An Ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be
used and eltting a contract for the curbing, guttering, ex-
cavating grading and paving of Putnam, Avenue in the City of
Salina, Aansas from the north line 537 m rM soh Avenue
to the south line of South Street in said City.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That it is hereby determined that Putnam Avenue
in the City of Salina, Kansas, from the south line of South Street
to the north line of Morrison Avenue in said City shall be paved
with one course vitrified vertical fiber plain wire cut brick, not
less than three (3) inches deep, with asphalt filler laid on a
foundation of five (5) inches in depth of Portland Cement Concrete
base with one (1) inch sand cushion, such pavement within the limits
above defined to be twenty-two (22) feet in width excluding curb
and gutter.
Section 2. That it is hereby determined that rutnam Avenue
in. the Cityof Salina, Kansas from the south line of South Street to
the north line of Morrison Avenue in said City shall be curbed and
guttered with one piece combination cement curb and gutter, said
combined curb and gutter shall be comprised of a curb six (6) inches
thick at the top and six and. one-half (62) inches thick at the
throat, with gutter twenty-four (24) inches wide, six (6) inches
thick at the throat and seven (7) inches thick next to the rave
went.
Section 3. All excavating, filling and rolling necessary for
the proper construction of such improvements shall be done and all
of such improvements shall be made and done in strict conformity to
and in compliance with the plans and specifications heretofore made
by the City Engineer of Salina, Kansas and now on file"with the
City Clerk of said City, which plans and specifications are hereby
incorporated in and made a part hereof in all respects as fully
and completely as though written out at length herein, which plans
and specifications are hereby adopted as and for the plans and
spe cifi

foot, and for paving actually laid and put in place Three and 23/100
($3.23) per square yard. All of said work shall be paid for accord-
ing to the measurement made by the City Engineer of the City of
Salina. It is hereby determined and found that the prices to be
paid for the improvements as aforesaid is less than the estimated
prices of each abd all of said improvements as now on file with the
City Clerk of the City of Salina, Kansas.
Section 5. Such contract is awarded upon the express conditim
that such work and improvements shall be done in strict accordance
with and in compliance with the plans and specifications of the
City Enineer therefor, which plans and specifications are hereby
made apart of this ordinance and of the contract awarded, and upon
further conditions among others that the person to whom, said contract
is awarded shall furnish to the City of Salina a surety company
bond in the, approdaimate sum of the cost of such improvements guar-
aneteeing the prompt, proper and workmanlike construction of all
the same together with a surety company bond guaranteeing such pave-
ment against all defects in material and worlananship for a period
of five (5) years from the date of its completion and acceptance
by said City; and said contraft is awarded upon a further condition
that said CI.P.Barrington shall furnish to the City of Salina a good
and sufficient surery company bond guaranteeing said curb and gut-
ter against all defects in material and workmanhship for a period
of two (2) years from the date of its completion and acceptance of
such work by the City; together with a good and sufficient surety
company bond.running to the State or Kansas in an amount approximate
ly equal to the, contract price of said improvements and conditioned
that said C. P. Barrington shall pay all indebtedness for labor and
material furnished in making the improvements provided for herein.
Section 6. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina
are hereby authorized to make and etner into on behalf of said City
all written agreements necessary in order to secure the construe
tion of the improvements herein provided for.
Section 7. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after its publication once in the official City
paper#

to the south line of South Street in said City -
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,

ton for the paving, curbing, guttering, excavating, and filling the
above mentioned street in the limits aforesaid with the materials
hereinbefore specified, for the paving actually laid and put in
place, for the labor actually performed and the materials actually
furnished at the following prices: For excavating and grading
One and IJo/100 ($1.00) Dollars per cubic yard; for Portland Cement
Concrete combined curb and gutter Ninety cents (90¢) per lineal foot,
and for paving actually laid and put in place Three and 23/100($3.23)
Dollars per square yard. All of said work shall be paid for accord-
ing to the measurement made by the City Engineer of the City of
Salina. It is hereby determined and found that the prices to be
