ORDI_NANCE WO. 2864 11-she-d—in T SF1I inn F ven;na-Journal _ —� 1 �?3a I A An ordinance providing for the construction of certain sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas: BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the owner or owners of any and all real estate in the City of Salina, Kansas and abutting on the east side of Seventh Street from Grand Ave- nue north 345 feet, which is adjacent to Lot 21, Block 15 and in front of Lots 13-15 and 19, Block 15, all in Pacific Addition to Salina, Kansas, are hereby required to construct or cause to be constructed on or before the 12th day of November, 1923, a sidewalk in front of and ajacent to all the lots or parts of lots sbove mentioned, said sidewalk to be constructed of the material, width and in the manner specified and required'by the provisions of Ordinance No. 2407 of the City of Salina, Kansas, which said Ordinance No. 2407 is by reference -hereby incorporated in and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. That if the owner or owners of any of the real estate above described shall fail, neglect or refuse to so con- struct, lay and build said sidewalk before the 12th day of Nov- ember, 1923, then the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina shall, as soon as practicable after the 12th day of Novem- ber, 1923, cause such sidewalk as described in Section One (1) herefoto be constructed by contract according to law. Section 3. the cost and expense of the construction of any and all such sidewalk, if built by the City of Salina under the provisions of Section Two (2) hereof, shall be assessed -against the lots and -pieces of land abutting on such sidewalk according to the front feet thereof; and a special assessment shall be levied by the City Clerk and certified by the pity Clerk to the County Clerk to be by him collected in like manner as other taxes against such real estate. Section 4, .uhis ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication once in the official City paper. Introduced for first reading, October 1st, 1923.
