An Ordinance amending Section one (1) of Ordinance Number 2377,
entitled "An Ordinance amending.Section_3 of Ordinance
Number 1923, being "An Ordinance creating a.Board of Public
Welfare for the City of Sal-ina and fixing the powers and
duties of such Board," and repealing said.Original Section", -
and repealing said Section 1 of such ordinance.
BE 1`i' ORDAINED by the Board ur Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 1 of ordinance No. 2377 be and the
same is hereby amended to reas as follows;
"Section 1. That Section 3 of Ordinance Number 1923 be and the,/same
is hereby amended to reas as foliows': "Section 3. Such Board of
Public Welfare and the members thereof shall serve without.pay and
shall have the direct supervision and regulation of theatres, dance
hallo and other places of public amusement and recreation maintained
or conducted for profit, and of all theatres, theatrical entertain-
ments or similar performances, dances, dance halls and other places
of public amusement and recreation maintained or conducted in
connection with any business such as restaurants, hotels, drug
stores, soft drink parlors or other similar commercial enterprises,
which may be maintained and conducted or operated in the City of
Salina for profit and it shall be unlawi'ul for any person to maintain
or conduct for profit within the City of Salina any theatre, public dan(
hall or other place ofpublic amusement or recreation or to maintain
or conduct within said City any theatre, theatrical entertainment
or similar performance, dance, dance hall or other place of public
amusement and recreation and. recreation maintained or conducted in
connection with any business such as restaurants, hotels, drug stores,
soft drink parlors or other similar commercial enterprises, after the
election of such Board of* Public Welfare without first having received
and having from such Board of Public Welfani� a permit to maintain and
conuuct the same, and any person convicted of violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding
$p100.00.''
Section 2. That said original Section lof Ordinance No. 2377
be and the same is nereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take efrect and be in full
force from and after its publication once in the official City paper.

pealing said original section", and repealing said Section 1 of
such ordinance.
BE ITSORDAINLD.by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas.
Section 1, That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2377 be and the same
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 1. That Section 3 of Ordinance Number 1923 be and
the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 3.
Such Board of Public Welfare and the members thereof shall

or similar performanoes, dances, dance halls and other
places of public amusement and recreation maintained or

drink parlors or other similar commercial enterprises,
after the election of such Board of Public Welfare without
first having received and having from such Board of Public
Welfare a permit to maintain and conduct the same, and any
person convicted of violating any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding
4100.00".
Section 2. That said Original Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2677
be and .the -same is hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
from and ,after its publication once in the official City paper.
