An Ordinance providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of
the City of Salina, Kansas in the sum of 01,085.26 to pay
the,cost,of.building and constructing a certain storm
sewer, manholes and catchbasins in said.City.
WHEREAS', in pursuance of proceedings duly had according to
law, contracts have been let and performed for the building and
construction of a certain storm sewer, manholes and catch basins
in the City of Salina, Kansas including excavating and backfilling,
said improvements being more particularly described as follows:
600 feet of ten (10) inch storm sewer commencing
at the end of the present stub of sewer at the
intersection of Highland Avenue and Wilson Street
in the City of z5alina.. Kansas, running .thence west
on Wilson Street.to,the intersection of Wilson
Street with Ninth Street.therein,.with two (2)
manholes and three (3) catchbasins,,together with
excavating and backfilling..
WHEREAS, the total cost -of said improvements has been
ascertained and is hereby found and determined to,be the sum of
$$,085.26,-NUW THEREFORE.,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the cost of such sewer shall be payable
in two equal annual installments, instead of,levying the entire
taxes forsuch cost.at one time, the first installment of which
is to be, paid with the taxes for -1923 and the,second and.last
installment which is to be paid with the taxes for the year 1924
and that for such installments,there shall be issued Sewer Im-
provement Bonds of the City of.Salina, Kansas in the total sum
of 01,C85.26 as herein provided.
Section 2. Said issue of bonds shall consist of two (2)
bonds of the denomination of $542.63 each and such bonds shall be
dated May 1st, 1923 and shall be payable as follows:

Section 3. Said bonds shall bear interest at the rate of
four and three-quarters per centum (4t"%) per annum, such interest
to be payable semi-annually on the 1st day of May and upon the lst
day of November each year after the date of said bonds, except that
the first interest coupon shall be due May 1st, 1924. Such bonds
shall have interest coupons attached and both bonds and ,coupons
shall be payable at the fiscal agency of the State of Kansas in the
city of Topeka, Kansas.
'Section 4. Said bonds shall be signed, by the Mayor and shall be
attested by. the City Clerk, of the City of_,3alina, Kansas and shall
have the corporate seal of said City attached thereto. Interest cou-

Section 5. Said bonds shall be executed in the. form and shall

acknowledges itself to be indebted and promises to pay the sum of

This bond is one of a series of bonds of like date and tenor
issued by the said Uity of Salina, Kansas to pay for sewer improve-
ments in and for said. City under and by the authority of and in
compliance with the provisions of the laws of the btate of Kansas
governing cities of the first class and in compliance with an ordin-
ance duly and legally passed by the Board of Commissioners of said
City on the day of .?1.1119213.
And it is hereby declared and_ certified that all acts, conditions,
and things required to be done and to exist precedent to and in the
issuance of this bond have been .properly done and performed and do
exist in regular form as required by the constitution and laws of the
State of nansas and that the.total indebtedness of�said Qity including
this series of bonds does not exceed any constitutional or statutory
limit.

Section 7. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of
Salina, Kansas are hereby authorized and directed, without
unnecessary delay to prepare and execute said bonds and coupons
and that when executed, said bonds shall be registered with the
City Clerk of the City of Salina, Kansas and shall be registered
with the Auditor of the State of Kansas as required by law, and
shall be delivered to the contractor, -rhe Galina Plumbing Company,
constructing such improvements in proportion to the amounts due
them for such work and improvements. PROVIDED HONEVER, that said
bonds shall not be delivered to said contractor in a greater
sum or amount than the amount due and owing for the cost of said
improvement.
Section 8. The board of Commissioners shall make provisions
for the payment of the principal and interest on said bonds as the
same becomes due and payable by levying a tax on the property liable
therefor.
Section 9, This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after its publication once in the official City
paper.

An Ordinance providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds•
of the City of Salina, Kansas in the sum of $1,085.26
to pay the cost of building and constructing a certain
storm sewer, manholes and catchbasins in said City.
WHEREAS, in pursuance of proceedings duly had according
to law, contracts have been let and performed for the building
and construction of a certain storm sewer, manholes and catch -
basins in the City of Salina, Kansas including excavating and
backfilling, said improvements being more particularly described
as follows:.
600 feet of ten (10) inch—storm sewer, commencing
at the end of the present stub of sewer at the inter-
section of Highland Avenue and Wilson Street in the
City of Salina, Kansas, running thence west on
17iilson Street to the intersection of Wilson Street
with Ninth Street therein, with two (2) manholes and
three (3) catchbasins, together with excavating
and backfilling.
WHEREAS, the total cost of said improvements has been
ascertained and is hereby found and determined to be the'sun
of $1,085.26, Now Therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the cost of such sewer shall be payable
in two equal annual installments instead of levying the entire
taxes for such cost at one time, the first installment of which
is to be paid with the taxes for the year 1923 and the second
and last installment which is to be paid with the taxes for
the year 1924 and that for such installments there shall be
issued Sewer Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas
in the total sum of $1,085.26 as herein provided.
Section 2. Said issue of bonds shall consist of two (2)
