An Ordinance specifying.and selecting„the paving.material to be
used and lettings. contract for the curbing, guttering, exca-
vating, grading and paving Minnespolis Avenue in.the City of Galina,
Kansas from the west line of Banta Fe.Avenue to the east line
of Highland Avenue in said City.
BE IT ORDAINED „by,the Board of Commissioners of the City.of,Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That it is herebydetermined that Minneapolis Avenue
in the City of Salina.. Kansas from.the west line. -of. -Santa Fe Avenue
to the east line of Highland Avenue in said.Oity_shall be paved with
one course vitrified vertical fiber plain wire.out.brick,...not less than
three (3) inches deep, with asphalt filler on a foundation five inches
in depth of Portland Cement Concrete base with one (l) -inch sand cush-
ion, and such pavement within the limits above defined to be twenty-
six (26) feet in width excluding curb and gutter.
Section 2. That it is hereby determined that Minneapolis Avenue
in the City"of Salina, Kansas from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue
to the east line of Highland Avenue in said City shall be curbed and
guttered with one piece combination cement curb and gutter, said com-
bined curb and gutter shall be comprised of a curb six inches thick at
the top and six and one=half inches thick at the throat, with gutter
twenty- foul inches wide', six inches thick at the throat and seven
inches thick next to the pavement.
Section 3. All excavating, filling and rolling necessary for
the proper construction of such improvements shall be done and all of
such improvements shall be made and done in strict conformity to and
in compliance with the plans and specifications heretofore made by the
City Engineer of Salina, Kansas and now on file with the City Clerk of
said City, which said plans and specifications are hereby incorporated
in and made a part hereof in all respects as fully and completely as
though written out at length herein, which plans'and specifications
are hereby adopted as and for the plans and specifications of such work
and improvements.
Section 4. That a contract is hereby awarded to M. R. Amerman for
the paving,.eurbing, guttering, excavating and filling the above men-
tioned street in the limits aforesaid with the materials hereinbefore
specified, for the paving actually laid and put in place, for the labor
actually performed and the materials actually furnished at the follow-
ing prices; for excavating and grading seventy cents (70�) per cubic
yard; for Portland Cement Concrete combined curb and gutter eighty
cents (80¢)` per lineal"foot and for paving actually laid and put in
place Three and 18/100 Dollars ($3.18) per square yard. All of said
All of said work shall be paid for aoeording.to the measurement
made by .the City Engineer of the City of Salina. it is hereby deter -
mined and found that the prices to be paid for the, improvements as
aforesaid is less than the estimated prices of each and all of said)
improvements as now on file with the Clty:Clerk of said pity of
Salina, Kansas.
Section 5. Such contract is awarded -upon the express con-
dition that such work and improvement shall be done in strict
accordance with the plans and specifications of.the City Angineer
therefor, which plans and specifications are hereby made a part
of this ordinance and of the contract awarded, and upon further
conditions among others that M. R. Amerman,._to... whom said contract
is awarded shall furnish to the.City_of_,alina a.surety company
bond in the approximate sum of the cost of-su.ch improvements,
guaranteeing the prompt, proper and workmanlike construction of
all the same, together with a surety company bond guaranteeing
such pavement against all defects in material and workmanship for a
period of five (5) years from the date of its completion and
acceptance by said City; and said contract is awarded upon a
further condition that said M. R. Amerman shall furnish the City
of Salina a good and sufficient surety company bond guaranteeing
said curb and gutter against all defects in material and workman-
ship for a period of two (2)' years from the date of its completion
and acceptance of such work by the City; together with a good and
sufficient surety company bond running to the Otate of Kansas in.
an amount approximately equal to the contract price of said improve-
ments and conditioned that said M. n. t'merman shall pay all indebt-
edness for'labor and material furnished in making the improvements,
provided for herein.
Section 6. ivhe board of Commissioners of the Uity of Salina
are hereby authorized to make and enter into on behalf of said
City all"written agreements necessary in order to secure the con-
struction of the improvements herein provided for.

force from and after its publication once in the official City papers

An Ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be

BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of

actually furnished at the following prices; For excavating and

Concrete combined curb and gutter eighty cents (84) per lineal
foot and for paving actually laid and put in place Three and 18/100
Dollars ($3.18) per square yard. All of said work shall be paid
for according to the measurement made by the City Enginea, of the
City of Salina. It is hereby determined and found that the prices

for a.period of two (2) ywars from the date of its completion and
acceptance of such work by the City; together with a good and
sufficient surety company bond running to the State of Kansas in an
amount approximately equal to the contract price of said improve-
ments and conditioned.that said rt. R. Amerman shall pay all
indebtedness for labor and material furnished in making the im-
provements provided for herein.
Section 6. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina
are hereby authorized to make and enter into on behalf of said
City all written agreements necessary in order to secure the
construction of the improvements herein provided for.
Section 7. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after its publication once in the official City
paper.
