.ORDINANCE iio. 2.786 -
An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the
City of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of building and
constructing a lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sewer
District No. 7-F in said City, and relating to and pro-
viding for the collection and payment of such assessments.
BE :iT uRDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. For the purpose of paying the cost of building
and construction an 8 -inch sanitary lateral sewer in Lateral
Sewer District Number 7-F in the City of Salina, Kansas, commenc-
ing at the present manhole at intersection of Ninth Street and
Bond Street, running thence south on Plinth Street to Republic
Avenue 1800 feet with three manholes, there are hereby levied
and assessed on the property liable therefor, being all of the
lots and pieces of ground situate in and comprising said Lateral
Sewer District Number 7-F as heretofore provided and established
by Ordinance Number 2658, which are specially benefited by said
sewer, according to the appraised value of such lots and pieces
of ground without regard to the buildings or improvements,
thereon special assessments covering the cost of such work and
improvements; said special assessments being based on the spe-
cial valuation or appraisement of said lots and pieces of
ground heretofore made by three disinterested appraisers appoint-
ed by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas,
which said appraisement is hereby referred to and made a part
of this ordinance, and the several "amounts levied, apportioned
and assessed against each of said lots and pieces of ground for
the purpose aforesaid are hereby found and determined to be as
follows:

Section 2. Said amounts levied, apportioned and assessed
aforesaid shall be due and collectible in ten equal installments,
the first becoming due with the taxes levied for the year 1923 and
one of said installments falling due each and every ,year thereafter
until all are paid, and all to be collected with interest as in this
ordinance provided, PROVIDED, that the owner of any piece of prop-
erty liable for any such assessment may redeem his property from such
liability by paying into the City Treasury the entire amount charg-
eable against the same, as in this ordinance designated at any time
within thirty days after the publication of this ordinance and before
the issuance of the bonds of said City in payment of the balance of
said improvements, and his property so paid on shall not thereafter
be liable for any further assessments for the cost of said improve-
ments nor for any part of said bonds.
Section 3. There is hereby further levied and assessed
against each lot and piece of ground described in this ordin-
ance 6% interest per annum on all of said installments therein
mentioned from the date of the bonds, which may be issued at
the end of thirty days, as specified in the preceding section
hereof, as by law provided, to the time of collection of the
last installment, as provided by law, which said interest shall
be collected annually at the same time and in the same manner
as said installments are collected; and after the taking effect
of this ordinance it shall be the duty of the City Ulerk of
said City to annually at the same time other taxes are certi-
fied, and until all of said assessments so apportioned and
levied herein have been certified, to certify to the Uounty
Ulerk of Saline County, Kansas a full list of all property
liable to assessment and taxation for such work and improve-
ment, except such property on which the special assessments
aforesaid have been paid in full as hereinbefore provided, to-
gether with the respective amounts due on each of such lots and
pieces of ground, which amounts shall include the annual
installments of such special assessments together with the
interest for one year at the rate of 6% per annum, on all un-
paid balances of such assessments at the beginning of each such
year as aforesaid, and such amounts so certified as herein
provided shall be placed upon the tax roll by the County Clerk
of Saline County, Kansas and collected as all other taxes are
collected.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force from and after its publication once in the official
Uity paper.

An Ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of building and construct-
ing a lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sewer District Number
7-F in said City, and relating to and providing for the
colle c tion and payment of such assessments.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Galina,
Kansas;
Section 1. For the purpose of paying the cost of building and
constructing aw'8--inch sanitary lateral sewer in Lateral Sewer
District Number 7-F in the City of Salina, Kansas, commencing at
the present manhole at intersection of Ninth Street and Bond
Street, running thence south on Ninth Street to Republic Avenue
1800 feet, with J manholes, there are hereby levied and assessed
on the property liable therefor, being all of the'lots and pieces
of ground situate in and comprising said Lateral Sewer District
Number 7-F as heretofore provided for and established by Ordinance
Number 2658, which are specially benefited by said sewer, according
