An Ordinance providing for the construction of certain sewer service
pipes in the City,of Salina, 1-ansas.
BE iT uRDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the owner or owners of any and all real estate
in the City of Salina, Kansas, and abutting
On Eleventh Street from Iron Avenue to Walnut Street,
being Lots 5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-16-15-16-17-18-19 and
20 on Eleventh Street in Phillips 2nd Addition to the City
of Salina, Kansas, Lots 4-5 and 6 on Eleventh Street in
Replat of Bishop and Blodgett Addition to the City of Sal-
ina, Kansas, and Lot 15 on Eleventh Street in Surveyor's
Plat "B" of the City of Salina, nansas,
be and are hereby required and ordered to construct and lay or to
cause to be constructed and laid on or before the 25th day of April,
1923, sewer service pipes from the sewer laterals where situate in
the streets whereon said real estate so described abutts to the back
of the curb line, said sewer service pipes to be constructed and
laid in the manner and of the size and material.as specified and re-
quired by the provisions of ordinance No. 2410 of the City of Salina,
Kansas, which said Ordinance No. 2410 is by reference hereby incor-
porated in and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. That if the owner or owners of any of the real
estate,. above described. -shall fail, neglect or refuse to so construct
or cause to be constructed or laid, said sewer service pipes before
the 25th day.of April, 1923, then the Board. of.Commisszoners of
the City of Salina, Kansas shall as soon as practicable after the
25th day of April, 1923 and before the laying and construction of
any pavement upon the streets above described, cause such sewer
service pipes as described in Section One (1) hereof to be construct-
ed by contract according to law.
Section 3. The cost and expense of construction and laying of
any and all such sewer service pipes, if built by the City of
Salina, Tansas under the provisions of Section Two (2) hereof, shall
be assessed against the lots and pieces of ground abutting on the
street on which such improvement is made, according to the cost in-
curred by said City in making said improvement for each of said de-
scribed lots .or parcels of ground, which special assessments shall
be by the City Clerk certified to the County Clerk of Saline County,
Kansas to be by him collected in like manner as other taxes and
special assessments are collected according to law.
Section 4. 'chis ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force from and after its publication once in the official
City°paper.
