3560 Construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers #141 & 142ORDINANCE NO. 3560

AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract for the build-
ing and construction of certain lateral sanitary sewers in
Lateral Sewer Districts No, 141 and No. 142 in the City of
Salina and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to
pay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds for
the payment of such cost.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina.,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of L he
proposal of C. T. Snyder, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor"
as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on June 11th, 1928,
which is hereby found and determined to be the lowest; and best
bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of
Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on be-
half of the city by the kgyor on June 12th, 1928 for the building
and construction of certain lateral sanitary sewers in Lateral
Sewer Districts No. 141 and 142 with No. 1 Standard V. S. Pipe,
with Asphalt Joints, as provided for in Ordinance No. 3536 at
and for the unit prices contained in said proposal for such
construction, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to
and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same are hereby
ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated
cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the
City Engineer filed in the office of the City Clerk on May 21st,
19282 which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of
this ordinance.
Section 2. That said lateral sanitary sewers shall be built
and constructed in accordance with the plans and 'specifications
therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of

the City Clerk and in accordance with the Proposal of said con-
tractor and under the terms of said contract entered into be-
tween the city and said contractor on June 12th., 1928, which said
plans, specification -s., proposal and contract are hereby referred
to and made parts of this ordinance, said work to be done and the
materials equipmdnts appliances and appurtenances necessary and
required in connection therewith to be performed and furnished in
accordance with said plans and specifications, conditioned however
upon the furnishing by the contractor of the contract, maintenance

and statutory bonds within the time required of said contract.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attest.
ed by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work pro-
gresses in the manner and form as required by laws the total
amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work,
such notes to bear interest not to exceed 4-1/4% per annum and

mature not later than November 1st, 1928 and to bd issued in such
amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of
such work may be required, such notes to be issued to said con-
tractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent
bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication in the official city paper.
