3540 Construction of Storm Sewer # 7-A & 8-Ablished. in t ORDINANCE NO. 3540 AN ORDINANCE providing for the construction of certain storm sewers in the City of Salinal to be designated as Storm Sewers No. 7-A, and No. 8-A, and providing for the issuing of Improvement Bonds to pay the cost thereof. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. STORM SEVIER NO. 7-A. That it is necessary and it is hereby ordered that astorm sewer, together with all. necessary inlets, oappurtenances,b onstru � t T f S connections and. then e constructed in he Citi o aline along the following course, to -wit: Beginning at a manhole to be con- structed in Euclid Avenue approximately 110 feet east of the east line of Ninth Street, thence west as a 12 inch sewer approximately 120 feet to an existing manhole on Store Sewer No. 7 at Ninth Street and Euclid Avenue, Section 2. STORM SEWER NO. 8-A. That it is necessary and it is hereby ordered that a storm sewer, together with all necessary inlets, connections and other appurtenances, be constructed in the City of Salina along the following; course, to -wit: Beginning at a manhole to be con- structed in North Street approximately 105 feet,west of the west line of Ninth Street, thence west as a 12 inch sewer approximately 340 feet to a manhole to be constructed in North Street between Tenth and Eleventh Streets; thence west as a 15 inch sewer, approximately 183 feet to a man- hole to be constructed at Eleventh and North Streets; thence west as an eighteen inch sewer, approximately 338 feet to a manhole to be constructed at Twelfth and North Streets; thence west as a twenty-one inch sewer, approximately 290 feet to a manhole to be constructed North S a r e1 r cted in ort treat at p y p the east line of Thirteenth Street; thence west as a twenty-one inch sewer, approximately eighty feet to a manhole to be constructed. in North Street near the west line of Thirteenth Street; thence west as a twenty- four inch sewer approximately 265 feet to a manhole to be constructed at North and Reynold. Streets; thence north as a twenty-four inch sewer, approximately 661 feet to an existing manhole on Stora Sewer No. 8 at Lincoln and Reynolds Streets; also beginning at a manhole to be constructed in Twelfth Street approximately 280 feet north of the north line of North Street, thence south as a twelve inch sewer, approximately 317 feet to the manhole hereinbefore mentioned at 'twelfth and North Streets. Section 3. That on or before June 4th, 19280 the City Engineer shall prepare and file in the office of the City Clerk detailed plans and specifications for the construction of the storm sewers provided for in Sections 1 and 2 of this ordinance, with vitrified and concrete sewer pipe, and on or before the same date shall prepare and file in the office of the City Clerk, under cath, a detailed estimate of the cost thereof. After such plans and specifications and estimated cost shall have been filed, as aforesaid, the City Clerk shall advertise, by advertisements I I 71 L published in the official city paper for at least three consecutive days, for sealed proposals for the building and construction of such storm sewers and at the time and place mentioned, the Board of Commissioners may contract with the lowest and best responsible bidder therefor, for the building and construction of such storm 'sewers, but the right to reject any and all proposals shall be and the same is hereby reserved, and any contract awarded for such work shall provide for the furnishing by such contractor of per- formance and maintenance bonds, and for a statutory bond, in amounts equal to the fall cost of such work, which shiall be approved by the Board of Commissioners before any such work shall be commenced. Section 4. That for the purpose of paying the cost of such improvements, the Board of Commissioners shall issue Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in an amount not to exceed the total cost of such work and improvements., to be payable in ten approximately equal annual installments and to bear interest at not to exceed 5% per annum, from the date of such bonds, and for the purpose of paying such bonds and interest as they severally matures the Board of Commissioners shall annually levy a tax upon all real and personal property in the City of Salina in an amount sufficient to pay the annual installments of such Principal and interest., and that pending the issue of such bonds., temporary notes shall be issued according to law, to pay the cost of such work, Section 5.
