An Ordinance providing for the construction of certain side-
walks in the City of Salina, Kansas.
BE IT ORDAINIED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the owner or owners of any and all of the
following described real estate in the City of Salina, abutting
on the north side of Jewell Avenue from the east line of
the McPherson Branch Railroad Tracks, east 200 feet more or
less, (with the except of the 50 feet of walk already built,

within said limits) are hereby required to construct or cause
to be constructed on or beofore the 15th day of July, 1925,

a sidewalk -in front or and adjacent to all of the lots.or
parts of lots above described, being Lots Two (2), Four (4),
Eight (8), Ten (10) and West -one-half of Lot Twelve (W2
of 12) Addition to Grounds of the Kansas Wesleyan University,
said sidewalk to be constructed or the material, width and in
the manner specified and required by the provisions of Ordi-
nance Number 2407 of the City of Salina. Kansas, which said
Ordinance Number 2407 is by reference hereby incorporated in
and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. That if the owner or owners of any of the
real estate above described shall fail, neglect or refuse to
so construct lay and build said sidewalk before the said 15th
day of July, 1925, then the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Salina, shall as soon as practicable after the 15th
day of July, 1925, cause such sidewalk as described in Section
One (1) hereof to be constructed by contract according to
law,
Section 3. The cost of expense of the construction of
any and all such sidewalk if built by the City of Salina
under the provisions of Section Two (2) hereof shall be assessed
against the lots and pieces of land abutting on such sidewalk
according to the front feet thereof; and a special assessment
shall be levied by the City Clerk and certified by the City
Clerk to the County Clerk to be by him collected in like manner
as other taxes against such real estate.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its publication once in the official City
paper.
