3102 Construction SidewalksAn Ordinance providing for the construction of certain sidewalks
in the City'of Salina, Kansas.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the owner or owners of any and all of the
following described real estate in the City of Salina, abbuting
on the west side of Ohio Avenue from the north line of Iron
Avenue north 150 feet (to the south end of the sidewalk at pres-
ent constructed in front of property known as House Number 115
North Ohio Avenye)are hereby required to construct or cause to be
constructed, on or before the 1st day of June, 1925 a sidewalk
in front of and adjacent to all of the lots or parts of lots above
described, being all of that part of Surveyors Plat No. 12,
lying on the west side of said Ohio Avenue between the limits
above defined, said sidewalk to be constructed of the material,
width and in the manner specified and required by the provisions
of Ordinance No. 2407 of the City of Salina". Kansas, which said
Ordinance No. 2407 is by reference hereby'incorporated in and
made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. That -if the owner or owners of any of the
real estate above°described shall fail, neglect or refuse to so
construct, lay and -build said sidewalk before the said 1st day
of June, 1925, then the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, shall as soon as practicable after the 1st day of June,
1925, cause such sidewalk as described in Section 1 hereof to
be constructed by contract according to law.
Section 3. The cost and expsnse of the construction of any
and all such sidewalk if built by the City of Salina under the
provisions of Section Two (2) hereof shall be assessed against
the lots and pieces of land abutting on such sidewalk accord-
ing to the front Peet thereof; and a special assessment shall
be levied by the City Clerk and certified by the City Clerk to
the County Clerk to be by him collected in like manner as other
taxes against such real.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication once in the official City paper.
