3086 Appointment of Board of Directorsn ces An Ordinance providing for the appointment of a Board of Directors of Gypsum Hill Cemetery Association, defining the duties of the members of such.Board.and repealing all ordinances or parte.of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance. WHEREAS, the City of Salina has heretofore acquired, in the manner provided by law all of the unsold land of the Gypsum Hill Cemetery Asso- ciation and has assumed complete control of the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, to- gether with the control of all road -ways and parkings in and around said cemetery, and WHEREAS, the management and control of the property'and affairs of said Gypsum Hill Cemetery Association has heretofore been, in the manner provided by law:, placed in charge o2' a Board of Directors to be appointed by the governing body of the Cit;: of Salina, NO':! THERFiORE, BE IT ORDF_INED by the Board of Commissioners of the.City of Salina, Kansas: Sec. 1. That the Board of Directors of the Gypsum Hi11.Cemetery Asso- ciation,�.whieh shall have the management and control of the property and affairs of said Gypsum Hill Cemetery Association and of. the Gypsum Hill Cem- etery, located in the NE Quarter of Section 18., Township 14, RanE;e 3, Saline County, Kansas, be appointed by the Board of Comt:issioners of the City of Salina, said Board of Directors to consist.of'six members, not more than two of whom shall be appointed in any one year, and.who shall hold.their offices for a period of three ,years from and after the date of their appointment; provided that the members of the Board of Directors of the Uypsum Hill Cem- etery Association heretofore appointed by the governing body. of the City of Salina, Kansas shall, at the first meeting of such Board of Directors, after the taking effect of this ordinance, fix the terms of such present directors by lot or otherwise, the manner thereof'to be. determined by such Board, so that the terms of office of two of the present members shall expire on the 1st day of January 1926, two on the lst day of January 1927 and two on the 1st day of january 1928, and that thereafter the governing body of the City of Salina shall annually before January 1st of each year appoint two members of such Board, to hold office for a term of three ,years from and after the 1st day of January following such appointment; and provided further that vacancies caused by the death, resignation or other disability of any member shall be filled for the unexpired term only. Such members shall serve with- out compensation, shall affect their own organization and elect their own officers, shall have the sole control and management of said Cemetery and shall have all of the authority conferred upon them by the laws of the Mate of Kansas or by such ordinances of the City of Salina as shall not be in conflict with such laws. They shall adopt such by-laws and rules for their own government and the government of said.Cemetery as may be necessary. Conflicting Ordinances Repealed. Sec. 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances -in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and the same are hereby* repealed. 1 is Take Effect. Sec. 3. WHEREAS, the City of Salina has heretofore acquired, in the manner provided bylaw, all of the unsold land of the Gypsum Hill Cemetery Association and has assumed complete control of the UvPsum Hill Cemetery, together with the control of all road -ways and pa.rk- ings in and around said Cemetery, and WHERFY:S, the management and control of the property and affairs of said Gypsum Hill Cemetery Association has heretofore been, in the manner provided by law, placed in charge of a Board of Lirectors to be appointed by the governing body of the City of Salina, NOW THERFs'FO,hE, BE IT OhDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas. Sec. 1.
