An Ordinance creating a Board of Trustees for the Salina Yemori-al hall,_pro-
viding for the appointment of the members thereof, defining the duties
of such Trustees and repealling all ordinances or parts thereof in con-
flict with the terms of this ordinance.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioner.- of the City of Salina, Kansas:
D4 .aORIAL BALL rRUSTEES. BOARD CREI.TED. SEC. 1. That the management and
control of the Salina Y'emorial Hall, the Memorial Building erected by the
City of Salina pursuant to the provisions of a certain special election here-
tofore held in the City of Salina authorizing the issue of bonds for the pay-
ment thereofrin accordance with the provisions of Chapter 256 of the Laws
of the Otate of Kansas, 1921 be and the same is hereby vested in a Board of
Trustees, consisting of three members to be appointed by the Mayor of the
City of Galina. Said Trustees shall be residents of the City of Salina, each
of whom shall be appointed for the term of 3 years, from the 1st day of
April in the year of such appointment; provided that the term of not two mem-
hers shall expire in the same year and provided further that all members
hereafter appointed shall. be so appointed upon the expiration of the term of
office of the Trustees holding office at the time of the taking effect of
this ordinance. Any vacancy on said Board by reason of death, resignation or
other disability of any of said members shall be filled for the unexpired
term of the member causing such vacancy. Said Trustees shall serve without
compensation and shall make annual reports and recommendations to the Board
of Commissioners of the City of Salina, respecting the management and use of
said building and the needs thereof.
POWERS AND DUTIES OF BOAHD. SEC. 2. That the Board of Trustees shall hat
sole charge and management of said Salina Iren;orial Hall and shall have author
ity to lease all of any part of said building for hire to any person or per-
sons desiring to lease the same and to fix the rate and terms upon which the
charge shall be made and collected therefor, and to make such provisions for
the use of said building as they may deem necessary and proper.
INOM E. TAX LEVY. SEC. 3. That all of the -income received and derived
from the use of said hall shell be, paid by said Board into the City Treasury
of the City of Salina to be kept in a fund to be: ]mown as the Menlor°ial. Hall
Fund, and all expenses of maintenance and other expenses in connection with
said memorial Hall shall be paid out of such fund or, vouchers approved by the
Chairman of said Board and duly appropriated by ordinance, and the Board of
Commissioners may annually levy a te.x of riot more than 110th of one mill
to take care of the expenses and maintenance of such Memorial Hall not pro-
vided by the income from such Hall.
CONFLICTING ORDINANCES REPEALED. SEC. 4. That all ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict with the terms of this ordinance be and the same are
hereby repealed.
TAKE EF -ECT. SEC 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force from and after its publication in the Book of Revised Ord -
finances of the City of Salina.
