w AN oRDI14ANGE prohibiting the location of drive-in gasoline filling
stations adjacent to certain parts of certain streets in the
City of Salina, providing penalties for the violation thereof,
and defining certain nuisances and the manner of abating the
same*
WHEREAS, on account of the congested traffic conditions existing
on the portions of the streets described in the following ordinance,
the operation of drive-in gasoline filling stations on property
adjacent_ theretck constitutes a menace and adanger to persons and
property using said streets and the sidewalks adjacent thereto,
NOW THEREFORE:
IBE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina:

Section 2. That it shall be unlawful after this ordinance takes
effect for any person firm or corporation to out or to procure the
cutting of any curb within the district or on any of the portions
of streets described in Section l of this ordinance, for the pur-
pose of furnishing ingress to or egress from any gasoline filling
station, or to use any driveway from private property to any portion
of any such street for the purpose of furnishing ingress or egress
to or from any filling station established after the taking effect
of this ordinance, and no permit shall hereafter be granted for the
cutting of any curb on any of such streets or portionsthereof for
any such purpose, and any permit hereafter granted for the cutting
of any curb for any driveway which shall thereafter be used for any
suoy purpose shall be revoked and the curb shall be reconstructed at
the expense of the owner of the property abutting thereon.
Section 3. That any person firm or corporation, or any employee,
agent, representative or officer thereof who shall violate any of
the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor and shall be fined not less than X100 nor more than 000
for each offense, and shall be committed until such fine be paid,
and each days operation of any filling; station established after
this ordinance takes effect, in violation of the provisions of this
ordinance, shall be deemed a separate offense.

AN ORDINANCE prohibiting the location of drive-in gasoline
filling stations adjacent to certain parts,of certain
streets in the City of Salina, providing penalties
for the violation thereof, and defining certain
nuisances and the manner of abating the same.
WHEREAS, on account of the congested traffic conditions existing
on the portions of the streets described in the following ordinance,
the operation of drive-in gasoline filling stations on property
adjacent thereto constitutes a menace and a danger to persons and
property using said streets and the sidewalks adjacent thereto,
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina:
That it shall be unlawful hereafter to

filling station on�or adjaAent to any of the following portions
of the following described stree in the City of Salina, to -wit:
On Santa Fe Avenue between As treat and Mu -1 -berry -
and on Fifth Street and Save Street between
Ash Street and Walnut Street; on As Street, Walnut
Street and Iron Avenue between the al east of
Fifth Street.and the alley west of Seven Street.
.Section 2. That it shall be unlawful after this ordinance
takes effect for any person firm or corporation to out or to prow

portions of streets described in Section 1 of this ordinance, for

filling station, or to use any driveway from private property to

Section 3. That any person firm or corporation, or

nor more than $500 for each offense, and shall be committed until
such fine be paid, and each days operation of any filling station
established after this ordinance takes effect, in violation of
the provisions of this ordinance, shall be deemed a separate
offense.
Section 4. The maintenance of any filling station
established after this ordinance takes effect, in violation of
the terms of this ordinance, is hereby declared to be a nubance,
and shall be abated in the manner now or hereafter provided for
by law or ordinance, and any action taken to abate or remove any
such nuisance shall not affect the other provisions or penalties
provided for by this ordinance.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect on and
after its publication in the official city paper.
