BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas. Section 1. That all df that portion of the City of Sal- ina, Kansas comprised within the following metes and bounds shall be knovm and designated as the Fire Limits of the City of Salina, -to-wit:- Commencing at the intersection of tl d north line of nulberry Street with the west line of Fifth Street, thence north along the west line of Fifth street to the north line of Walnut Street, thence east along the north line of Walnut Street to the west line of the riLht-bf-way of the Union Pacific Railroad Company (McPherson Branch) thence north alonb the west line of said right-of-way to the north line of lash Street, thence east alonEthe north line of Ash Street to the west line'of the alley running north and. south between Second street and Third. That no buildings shall be constructed, erected, altered or moved within the fire limits as defined in Section one (1) hereof except as provided in ordinance Number 2993 of the City of Salina, Kansas, adopted by the Board of Commissioners of said City on June 2nd, 1924, as now in effect or as may be hereafter amended, and except as otherwise in this ordinance provided, or as may be provided in any other ordinance of the City of Salina, now in effect or hereafter adopted. Section 5. That the provisions of Crdina.nce Number 2993 of the City of Salina, passed and approved by the Board of Commissioners on June �?n d, 1924, relating to the type of build- ingswhich are prohibited by the provisions of said ordinance within the fire limits of the City of Salina, Kansas shall not apply to residences or dwellings or other buildings of frame construction which may be erected, altered, repaired or moved within the limits of Fire District Number 3 as defined in the preceding section hereof, where such buildings do not cover a ground area of more than 2500 square feet, and do not exceed 2 stories in height or where such buildings do not cover a ground area of more than 5000 square feet and do not exceed 1 story in height, if all of the exterior walls of any such building are covered with brick veneer riot less than 4 inches in thickness or with lath and stucco and shall have a roof of fire -resisting mater- ial and construction. Section 6. That Ordinance Number 1728, passed and approved, Sept- ember 15th, 1913, and Ordinance Number 1642, passed and approved May 17th, 1916 be repealed and that all other ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and the seme are hereby, in so far as they conflict herewith, repealed.
