WHERFSS, the total cost of said improvements has been
ascertained and the portion thereof to be paid by a general
tax to be levied upon all of the taxable property within the
said City for the improvement of squares and areas formed by
the crossing of streets and alleys and for City property for
which bonds are to be issued as hereinafter provided, has been
ascertained and is hereby determined and found to be the sum
of $13,946.14, and
VJIIERFJ.S, the portion thereof to be paid by special assessments
levied upon the lots and pieces- of ground liable therefor has been
ascertained and is hereby found and determined to be the sum of
X137,899.75, which said last amount has been heretofore duly
assessed and apportioned to the several lots and pieces of
ground on such streets liable therefor, payable in ten equal in-
stallments according.to law and as provided in ordinances of
the City of Salina, Kansas, duly passed and approved, and
WHERFJ,S, the amount of said special assessments for which
bonds are to be issued as herein provided in anticipation of said
special assessments which remain unpaid has been ascertained and
is hereby determined and found to be the sum of y1191834.23, the
difference between said,last two named amounts having been paid
by the property owners of said above named streets whose prop-
erty ties been discharged.from any further assessments for the
cost of said improvements in the amount so paid, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the "ity of
Salina, nansas:
section 1. 'That the cost of such improvements, after deduct-
ing therefrom the assessments heretofore paid thereon as aforesaid
including the cost of the improvements of the squares and areas
formed by the crossings of streets and alleys and of said City
property, shall be paid in ten substantially equal annual install-
ments instead of levying the entire cost at one time; the first
installment of which is to be paid with the taxes for the year
1924 and one installment with the taxes for each succeeding year
thereafter until the whole amount thereof shall have been paid
and that for such installments there shall be and are hereby
issued Improvement "onds of the Oity of Salina; Kansas in the
aggregate sum of X133,789.37 as hereinafter provided.
Section 2. Said issue of bonds shall consist of 134 bonds,
all bearing interest at the rate of four and three-quarters
per cent (4-3/4%) per annum, interest payable semi-annually on
the 1st days of April and October of each year after the date
of said bonds; except that the first interest payment on the
first fourteen (14) bonds as hereinafter described, shall be
due and payable on the 1st day of April, 1925 and the first
interest payment on all of the remaining 120 bonds shall be
due and payable on the 1st of dctober, 1925 and thereafter all
interest shall be payable semi-annually as above provided for.

and limitations of the Constitution and Laws of the State of Kansas
including Sections 10-101 to 10-11.5 and Sections 12-601 to 12-610 and
Secticns13-:1011 of the Revised Statutes of Kansas, 1923 and�all other

provisions of the laws of said State applicable thereto, and this
bond and all of the other bonds of said series'. and all interest
thereon are to be paid by said City of Lia.lina, Kansas.
AND IT IS HEREBY DECLARED AND CERTIFIED, that all acts, con-
ditions and things required to be. done and to exist precedent to
and in the issuance of this bond, have been properly done and
performed and doexist in regular- form, and manner as required by
the Constitutions and Laws of the State of Kansas, and that the

Kansas are hereby authorized and directed without unnecessary
delay to prepare and execute said bonds and coupons and that when
executed said bonds shall be registered with the pity Clerk of
the City of Salina, Kansas and shall be registered with the Aud-
itor of the State of Kansas as provided by law, and shall be
delivered to the Fidelity National Bank and Trust !'ompany of Kansas
City, Misrouri, the purchaser thereof, inaccordancewith the contract
for the same heretofore entered into between the pity of 'alina and
W. W. Watson of Salina, nansas, said contract having been assigned by
said W. W'. Watson to said Fidelity National Bank and.Trust Company,
Provided However, said bonds shall not be delivered to -said Fidelity
National Bank and 'Frust Company in a greater amount or sum than the
amount actually paid by said Trust company to �j. P. Barrington, contrac-
tor constructing such improvements, and to whom Temporary Notes of the
City of Salina were issued in payment of the amount due to said Contractc
less such amount as shall be paid in cash by the City of "alina to said
Fidelity National Bank and Trust company, provided further that upon the
payment of said cash and the delivery of said bonds to The Fidelity Nat-
ional Bank and Trust Company that the Temporary Notes of the Uity of Sa-
lina heretofore issued and delivered to C. P. Barrington, Contractor and
now held and ovm ed by said Fidelity National.Bank and 'frust company be
delivered to said City of Salina, Kansas and cancelled.
Section 7. Said board of Commissioners shall make provisions for
the payment of the principal and interest on raid bonds as the same be-
comes due and payable by levying a tax on the property liable therefor.
Section 8. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
from and after its p blicaticn once in the official City paper.

Company of Kansas City, Missouri, the purchaser thereof, in accordance
with ,the contract for the same heretofore entered into between the City
of Salina and Vl, W. Watson of Salina, Kansas, said contract having
been assigned by said W. W\ Watson to said Fidelity National Bank and
Trust Company, PROVIDED HOIviEVER, said bonds shall not be delivered to
said Fidelity National Bank and Trust Company in a greater amount or
sum than the amount actually paid by said Trust Company to C. P.
Barrington,.contraetor constructing such improvements, and to whom
Temporary Notes of the City of Salina were issued in payment of the
amount due to said Contractor, less such amount as shall be paid in
cash by the City of Salina to said Fidelity National Bank and Trust
Company. Provided further, that upon the payment of said cash and
the delivery of said bonds to The Fidelity National Bank and Trust
Company that the Temporary Notes of the City of Salina heretofore issued
and delivered to said C. P. Barrington, contractor, and now held
and owned by said Fidelity National Bank and Trust Company be delivered
to said City of Salina, Kansas and cancelled.
Section 7. Said Board of Commissioners shall make provisions
for the payment of the principal and interest on said bonds as the
same becomes due and payable by levying a tax on the property liable
therefor.
Section 8. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after its publication once in the official city paper.
