3348 Issue Improvement BondsAN ORDINANCE providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of
the City of Salina, Kansas in the sum of $814.96 to pay the
cost of constructing a certain lateral storm sewer in said
city.
WHEREAS, in,pursuance of proceedings duly had according to
law a contract has,been let and performed for the construet ag
of a lateral storm sewer in lateral storm sewer district No. 4
in said city in conformity with the provisions of ordinances
numbered 3311 and 3319 of said city, the total cost of which has
been ascertained to be the sum of $976.13, which was duly assessed
.and apportioned to the several lots and pieces of ground in said
district liable therefor, as provided in said ordinances, of which
sum $161.17 has been paid by certain property owners in said dis-
trict, leaving a balance of $814.96 for which bonds are to be issued,
NOW THEREFORE
"BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,

Section 1. That to pay the -cost of said improvements there

shall be and there are hereby issued Improvement Bonds of the City
o'f Salina, Kansas'in•the sum of $814.96.
Seetion,2. Said issue shall•consis,t'of ten bonds; all bearing
interest at the rate of 4-1/2 percent per annum payable semi-annually
on the lst days of January and July of each year after date of said
bonds and shall mature in approximately equal amounts each year for
;ten years. All of said bonds shall be dated 'January lat. 1927, and
bond Number One for $94'.96 ehall-be due January lst..%l928 and bonds
'numbered two to ten ,inclusive, shall be for $80.00.each and shall
become due in the order of the numbering, one each year from January
lst,.1929 to.January 1st, 1937, inclusive.
Section 3. Said bonds shall be signed by the Mayor and
attested by the City Clerk and shall have the corporate seal of
pity attached thereto. Interest coupons shall -be signed by the
Mayor and City Clerk, or•with the facsimile signature of'such
officers.and both'bonds and coupons shall be payable to the fiscal
it agency of the State of Kansas in. the City of Topeka, Kansas, and

sum of $814.96 issued by the City of Salina, Kansas for the purpose
of paying.the cost of the building and constructing of a certain
lateral storm sewer, in said city, by the authority of and in full
compliance with the provisions, restrictions and limitations of the
Constitution and Laws of the State of Kansas, including.Sections
10-101 to 10-125 and Sections 13-1013 to 13-1018 inclusive of the
Revised Statutes of Kansas 1923, and all other provisions of the
laws of said state applicable thereto, and this bond and all other
bonds of said series and all interest thereon are to be paid by the
City of Salina, Kansas,
AND IT IS HEREBY DECLARED AND CERTIFIED, that all acts, conditions
and things required to be done and to exist precedent to and in the
issuance of this bond, have been done and performed and do exist in
due and regular form and manner and that the total indebtedness of
said City,,including this series of bonds does not exceed any con-
stitutional or statutory limitation.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said City of Salina in the State of
Kansas by its Board of Commissioners has caused this bond to be
signed by its Mayor and its corporate seal to be hereto affixed,

Section 4. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
and directed to prepare and execute said bonds and coupons and
when executed they shall be registered with the City Clerk of the
City of Salina and with the Auditor of the State Of Kansas and shall
be offered for sale to the State board of School Fund Commissioners
as required by law, and if rejected by said Board shall be offered
for sale in the manner provided by law and delivered to the pur-
chaser upon payment of.purchase price thereof.
Section 5. "Said uoard of Commissioners shall make provisions
for the payment of the principal and interest on said bonds as
the same becomes due and payable by levying a tax on the property
liable therefor.
Section 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after its publication once in the official City
paper.
