AN ORDINANCE relating to the construction and reconstruction of
certain sidewalks along..certain streets in the City of
Salina._
WHEREAS,.petitions, each duly_signed.by.ten or more.
citizens of..the.City.of..Salina, have been filed in the office of
the City Clerk, asking for the construction of sidewalks along the
streets, and in front.of.,and abutting.,upon the property,__mentioned
in Section One of this ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the sidewalks lying,,,in front of and abutting upon
the several pieces of property mentioned in Section Two of this
I ordinance are in the judgment of the Board of Commissioners, unsafe,
worn out and.unfi.t for repair; NOW THEREFORE.,
BE IT ORDAINED.by_the..,Board_of_Commissioners of..the.City of.Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That concrete sidewalks, constructed and
laid in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 2407, and
yt %,in accordance with the plans and specifications for concrete side -
...walks on file in the office of the City Engineer and in the office
of the City Clerk, which plans and specifications have been and
are now hereby approved, shall be and the same are hereby ordered
to be constructed and laid, upon the grades to be furnished by the
City Engineer, along the following streets and in front of and
abutting upon the several lots and parcels of land hereinafter
described, to wit:

Along the west side of Front Street, lying in front of
and abutting upon the east side of Lots 69, 70 and 71 on Front
Street (Original -Town); also
Along the west side of Ninth Street, lying in front of
.,adn abutting upon the east side of lots 1, 3 and 5 in Block 2 of
Surveyor's plat No. 10 (also known as Block 2 West View Addition); also
Along the south side of Bond Street, lying in front of
_-and abutting upon the north side of lots 1 and 2, Block 7, Bond's
_ pi L Addition (except the east 40 feet of the west 80 feet of said Lot
...2 where sidewalk is already constructed; also
Along the east side of Baker Street, lying in front of
and abutting -upon -the west side of Lots 30, 322 48, 509 52 and 54,
South 25 feet Lot 28, and the north 54 feet of Lot 36 on Twelfth
Street in,Phillip's Second Addition; also
Along the west side of Ninth Street, between Hamilton
.,o,fo and Antrim Avenue, lying.in_front of and abutting upon the east side
of.Lots 2•,.4, 60 8, 10, 129 14, 16, 18 and 20 Block 47 in Military
Addition; also

Along the north side of -Wilson Street lying in front of and
abutting upon the south side of the east fifty (50) feet of Lot 2,
Block 17 Hutchinson's Addition, (four foot walk only); also
Along the north side of Cedar Street, lying in front of and
abutting upon Lots 25, 27,29 and 31 on Cedar Street in Phillips Third
Addition;
Section 2 The existing sidewalks lying in front of and abutting
upon the following described lots and parcels of land in the City of
Salina, to -wit:
Along the east side of Ninth Street, lying in front of and
abutting upon the west side of Lot 64 on Ninth Street (Original Town),
be and the same are hereby condemned as unsafe, worn out and unfit for
repair, and ordered removed, and that said sidewalks be reconstructed
of concrete, in accordance with Ordinance No. 2407 and according to the
plans and specifications for sidewalks on file in the office of the
City Engineer and in the office of the City Clerk which have been and
are now hereby approved by the Board of Commissioners, and on the grades
to be furnished by the City Engineer.
Section 3. That the owners of each of the lots and parcels of
land described in Sections 1 and 2 of this ordinance be and they are
hereby ordered to construct in front of and abutting upon said lots
or parcels of land, concrete sidewalks as above described, and that
if any of them shall fail within fifteen days from and after the
publication of this ordinance to construct such sidewalks, the city
engineer shall prepare and file with the city clerk a detailed estimate,
under oath, of the cost of constructing such sidewalks, and the Board
of Commissioners of said city shall proceed to construct or cause to be
constructed such sidewalks as herein provided for and may let a contract
therefor, at a cost not to exceed the estimate of the City Engineer,
and shall assess the cost thereof against such lots or parcels of land
upon which such sidewalks shall abutt, according to the front foot
thereof, and such cost so assessed shall be duly certified by the City
Clerk to the County Clerk of Saline County to be collected as other
taxes and assessments are collected.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication once in the official city paper.

An ordinance relating to the construction and reconstruction of
certain sidewalks along certain streets in the City of Salina.

of the City of Salina, have been filed in the office of the City
Clerk, asking for the construction of sidewalks along the streets,
and in front ofamd abutting upon the property, mentioned in Section
