3337 Amending Ord 3093ORDINANCE NO 3337• AN ORDINANCE amending Section 2 of Ordinance No. 3093 of the City of Salina, entitled "An Ordinance providing for the election of certain city officers of the City of Salina and pre- scribing the manner of conducting the same and the manner of making returns thereof" and repealing said original Section 2 of said ordinance. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 3093 of the City of Salina passed and approved March 23, 1925, be and the same is here- by amended to read as follows: "Section 2. That in all respects, except as in this ordinance provided for, all primary elections and general elections for the election of commissioners of the City of Salina shall be conducted in the same manner as that provided for by the laws of the State of Kansas for elections in cities of said State having the Com- mission form of Government where a Mayor and four Commissioners are elected. At the primary and general elections in this ordinance pro- vided for, the polls shall be kept open between the hours of six A. M. and seven P. M. and no longer. The election judges and clerks shall be designated by the Board of Commissioners as provided by Section 1704 of the Revised Statutes of Kansas, 1923; provided, however that if not more than four candidates shall have filed statements of their candidacy with the City Clerk within the time provided by Section 1 of this ordinance for the filing of such statements, and if within the time provided by law for the filing of statements and petitions for the candidacy of members of the Board of Education of the City of Salina, not more than six persons shall have filed such statements of candidacy for election to such Board of Education, then no primary election shall be held, and such, candidates who shall have filed such statements within the time so provided, if such number shall not exceed four, in case of candidates for election as City Commissioner and shall not exceed six as candidates for election to the Board of Education, shall be the candidates for commissioners and for members of the Board of Education respectively, at the general election to be held on the first Tuesday in April as provided for in Section 1 of this ordinance; provided further however if more than four persons shall file statements of candidacy for election as city commissioners, or if more than six persons shall file statements of candidacy for election as members of the Board of Education, then such primary election as provided for in Section 1 shall be held as provided in said Section 1." Section 2.- That original Section 2 of said ordinance No. 3093, passed and approved March 23, 1925, be and the same is here- by repealed. Section 3. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 3093 of the City of Salina passed and approved March 23, 1925, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 2. That in all respects, except as in this ordinance provided for, all primary elections and general elections for the election of commissioners of the City of Salina shall be conducted in the same manner as that provided for by the laws of the State of Kansas for elections in cities of said State having the Commission form of Government where a Mayor and four Commissioners are elected.
