AN ORDINANCE dividing the City of Salina into certain wards and voting
precincts, and defining the boundaries thereof, and repealing
Ordinance No. 1763.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the City of Salina be and the same is hereby
divided into five wares, to be styled and known as the First, Second,
Third, Fourth and Fifth Wares, each of which shall constitute a separate
voting precinct in said city, except the Second, Third and Fifth wards,
which shall each be divided into two precincts to be known as the North
and South precincts of each of said wards.
Section 2. All of that portion of said city lying north of Iron
Avenue between Santa Fe Avenue and the east line of Section 182 Town-
ship 140 Range 2, and lying east of Santa Fe Avenue between Iron Avenue
and Otis Avenue, and east of Fifth Street between Otis Avenue and the
north city limits, shall constitute the First ward.
Section 3. All of that portion of said city lying west of Santa
Fe Avenue between Elm Street and Otis Avenue, and west of Fifth Street
between Otis Avenue and the north city limits, and lying north of Elm
Street between Santa Fe Avenue and the intersection of Elm Street,
extended west, with the southerly line of the right of way of the.Union
Pacific Railroad, and north of the southerly line of said railroad
right of way between such intersection and the west city limits,shall
constitute the north preceint of the Second ward.
Section 4. All of that portion of said city lying west of Santa
Fe Avenue between Elm Street and the Iron Avenue, and lying south of the
south boundary of the North precinct of the Second ward as defined in
Section 3 of this ordinance, and lying north of Iron Avenue between Santa
Fe Avenue and College Street, and north of the north lines of lot 9 on
College Avenue and lot 6 on West Place, the Replat of part of University
Addition, and north of Marietta Avenue in Leavenworth Addition, shall
constitute the South precinct of the Second ward.
Section 5 All of that portion of said city lying west of Santa
Fe Avenue between Iron Avenue and Mulberry Street, and south of the
south boundary of the -South precinct of the Second Ward as defined by
Section 4 of this ordinance, and lying north of Mulberry Street between
Santa Fe Avenue and Ninth Street, and north of the north line of Seitz
Addition between Ninth and Eleventh Streets, and north of the alley which
divides Phillips Second Addition between Eleventh Street and Baker Street,
and north of the center line of Spruce Street from Baker Street extended
west of the west city limits, shall constitute the North precinct of the
Third Ward.
Section 7, All of that portion of said city lying east of
Santa Fe Avenue between Iron Avenue and Prescott Street, and lying
south of Iron Avenue between Santa Fe Avenue and the east line of
Section 18, Township 14, Range 2, and south of the north line of
Section 170 Township 14, Range 2 between the west line of said
section and the east city limits, (which includes Country Club
Heights Addition( and lying north of Prescott Street, and said
street extended, east of Santa Fe Avenue, shall constitute the
Fourth Ward.
Section 8, All that portion of said city lying south of Prescott
Street and north of Wilson Street, and such streets extended, shall
constitute the North precinct of the Fifth Ward.
Section 9. All that portion of said city lying south of Wilson
Street, and such street extended, shall constitute the South precinct
of the Fifth ward.
Section 10. The residents of the several voting precincts de-
fined in the preceeding sections of this ordinance shall hereafter
be registered from and vote only in the voting precincts in which
any such person shall reside, and the residents of the Salina School
District, who reside outside of the corporate limits of the City of
Salina, shall vote at any school district election at the voting
precinct the boundaries of which, if extended, would include the
residence of such school district voter.
Section 11. That ordinance No. 1763 of the City of Salina,
passed and approved May 25th, 1914 be and the same is hereby repealed.
Section 12. Any territory hereafter added to the City of Salina
shall become a part of that ward or voting precinct to which it is
most nearly adjacent, and whose boundaries, intersecting the city
liu:its, if extended, would include such added territory, unless such
territory shall by ordinance be specifically attached to some other
ward or precinct.
Section 13. Thfi.�sordinance shall take effect and be in force
after its publication in the official city paper.

Avenue between Iron Avenue and Prescott Street, and lying south of
Iron Avenue between Santa Fe Avenue and the east line of Section 18,
Township 14, Ran.7e 2, and south of the north line of Section 17,
Township 14, Range 2 between the `,nest line of said section and the
east city limits, (which includes Country '"Club ::eights Addition)
and lyinP north of 2rescott Street, and said street extended, east
of 3antes Fe Avenue, shall constitute the Fourth yard.
SECTION S. All that portion of said city lying south of Prescott
Street anu north of ,iilson Street, and such streets extended, shall
constitute the North precinct of the Fifth sward.
EECTIOd 9. All that portion of said city lying south of ',dilson
Street, and such street extended, shall constitute the South precinct
of the Fifth ward.
3ECTIO?"i 10. The residents of the several voting precincts defined
in the preceeding sections of this ordinance sh--11 here"afternregister-

person shall reside, and the residents of the walina School District,
