AN ORDINANCE providing for the reconstruction of certain sidewalks in
the City of Salina.
WHEREAS, the existing sidewalks abutting upon the following described
lots or` tracts of land in the City of Salina are in the judgment of
the Board of Commissioners worn out or unfit for repairing, and should
be condemned and reconstructed; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
lansas:
Section 1. That the existing sidewalks lying in front of
and abutting upon the following described lots and tracts of ground,
in the City.of Salina, to -wit:
South Twenty five (25) feet of Lot eighty three (83 Santa Fe Avenue)
All of Lot 85 Santa Fe Avenue
North 25 -feet of Lot 87 Santa Fe Avenue
South 25 feet of Lot 89 Santa Fe Avenue
North 25 feet of Lots 91 Santa Fe Avenue
All of Lot. 126 Santa Fe Avenue
East 65 feet of Lot 2 Block 12 Riverside Park Addition (sidewalk along
North line) be and the same are hereby condemned as worn out or unfit
for repair and ordered removed, and that said sidewalks be reconstructed,
of the widths, and in accordance with the specifications provided for
in Section 3 of Ordinance No. 2407, and on the grades to be furnished
by the City Engineer.
Section'2. That when this ordinance takes effect, the city
engineer shall give notice in writing to the owners of said property
or their agents, if known, to reconstruct such sidewalks, and if such
owner shall not within 30 days thereafter reconstruct such sidewalks
as herein required the City Engineer shall proceed to reconstruct or
cause to be reconstructed such sidewalks as herein provided for and
shall report the cost thereof to the Board of Commissioners, and if
such amounts are not paid within 30 days after the City Clerk has
mailed to such owners, or their agents, if known, a notice of the
amounts due therefore, such amounts shall be assessed against said
property and shall be certified by the City Clerk to the County Clerk,
to be placed on the tax roll for collection like other taxes.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
