3293 Amending Ord 32651 0 -AN ORDINANCE amending Section 1 of ordinance No. 3265 entitled "An ordinance extending the route of the bus line operated by the Salina Street Railway Company as authorized by ordinance No. 3227, and changing the schedule fixed in said ordinance,"'and repealing said original Section 1: of ordinance No. 3265, and providing for the discontinuance of Street Car Service on that portion -of the Walnut Street line west of Eleventh Street. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Section 1 of ordinance No. 3265 be and Tthe same and hereby amended and read as follows: "Section 1. That the route of the bus line operated by the Salina Street Railway Company, in accordance with the provisions with . ordinance No. 3227, be changed and extended so that the com- plete route of said bus line, as'extended, shall be as follows: Commencing at the entrance to the Country Club grounds at the northeast corner of section 18-14-2, thence south to the center of Iron Avenue, thence west on Iron Avenue to Phillips street, thence north on Phillips Street to State Street, thence west on State Street to College Avenue, thence south on College Avenue to South Street, thence east on South Street to Baker Street, thence north on Baker Street to Iron Avenue, thence east along the same route to place of beginning; provided that the governing body of the City of Salina shall have the right at any time to change or amend said route and the schedule upon which such bus line is to be operated." Section 2. That original Section 1 of ordinance 3265 be and the same as hereby repealed. Section 3. That no part of said ordinance 3265, except Section 1 thereof, and no part of ordinance No. 3227 except as provided for in this ordinance and ordinance No. 3265, is amended, changed or repealed by this ordinance and the bus line operated on the route provided for in Section 1 of this ordinance shall be at all times considered as a part of the Salina Street Railway System, provided for in the original franchise granted to E. S. Alnutt, his heirs, successors and assigns, as contained in ordinance 1298 and amendments thereto, and shall be subject to all the conditions, re- strictions and requirements contained in said ordinances. Section 4. That the Salina Street Railway Company be and it is hereby permitted to discontinue street car service on that portion of the street car system on Walnut Street west of Eleventh Street, provided, however, that the said Company shall reinstate regular thirty minute service on said portion of said line whenever 0 the same may be so ordered by the governing body -of the City of Salina, and shall maintain special service on said line on such special aeeasions as may hereafter be deemed necessary, and ordered by such governing body, and provided further that said Company, its successors and assigns shall not remove its tracks from that portion of walnut street upon which service is discontinued but shall maintain the same, and the grade of said street between the rails and adjacent thereto, and will comply with all other ordinances and regulations relating thereto, to the same extent as required in connection with other tracks upon which street car service is maintained. Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its acceptance in.writing by the Salina Street Rail- way Company and after its publication once in the official city paper, and upon payment by such Street Railway Company of the cost of the publication of this ordinance and of ordinance 3227 and 3265 hereto- fore adopted, such acceptance to be recorded by the City Clerk in the ordinance book of said City and the payment of such publication costs to be noted thereon by the Clerk as evidence of the payment thereof by said Company.
