3286 Amending AssessmentsORDINANCE N0. 3286 , August 25th, 1926 AN ORDINANCE amending"Section;;2 of Ordinance Number 3269 entitled "A n Ordinance relating to and apportioning special .assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas. etc." and repealing said original Section 2. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. -32691, passed and approved July 20, 1926, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 2. That said amounts, levied, apportioned, and assessed as aforesaid, for the improvements constructed on Baker Street and on Ellsworth Avenue, as hereinabove referred to, as provided for in Ordinance No. 32, 16 and 3222, shall be due and collectible in ten equal installments, and that the amounts, levied apportioned and assessed as aforesaid, for the improvements con- structed on Third Street, Ash Street, and College Avenue, as herein- above referred to, as provided for in Ordinances No. 3237, 3238, and 3241, shall be due and collectible in five equal installments, the first of all of the installments herein provided for becoming due ith the taxes levied for the year 1926, and one of said installments falling due each year thereafter until all are paid, and all to be collected with interest as in this ordinance provided; Provided, that the owner of any piece of property liable for any such assessment may redeem his property from such liability by apying into the City Treasury the entire amount chargeable against the same as in this ordinance designated, at any time within thirty days after the pub- lication of this ordinance and before the issuance of the bonds of said City in payment of the balance of said improvements, and his property so paid on shall not therediter be liable for any further assessment for the cost of said improvements, nor for any part of said bonds. Section 2. That original Section 2 of Ordinance No. 3269 be and the same is hereby repealed. Section 3. That this ordinance be passed on first reading on the written request of the Mayor, and that it take effect and be in force after its passage and publication once in the official city paper. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 3269, passed and approved July 209 1926, br and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 2. That said amounts, levied, apportioned, and as- sessed as aforesaid, for the improvements constructed on Baker Street and on Ellsworth Avenue, as hereinabove referred to, as provided for in Ordinances No. 32 16 and 3222, shall be due and collectible in ten equal installments, and that the amounts, levied apportioned and assessed as aforesaid, for the improvements con- structed on Third Street, Ash Street, and. College Avenue, asl-herein- ,above referred to, as provided for in Ordinances No. 3237, 32389 and 3241, shall be due and collectible in five equal installments, the first of all of the installments herein provided for becoming due with the taxes levied for the year 1926, and one of said installments falling due each year thereafter untill all are paid, and all to be collected with interest as in this ordinance provided$ Provided, that theowner of any piece of property liable for any such assessment may redeem his property from such liability by paging into the City Treasury the entire amount chargeable against the same as in this ordinance designated, at ant time within thirty days after the pub- lication of this ordinance and before the issuahce of the bonds of said City in payment of the balance of said improvements, and his property so paid on shall not thereafter be liable for any further assessmant for -the cost of said improvements, nor for any part of said bonds.
