3281 Construction of SidewalksMED First Published in the Salina Journal, August, 9,1 1926) AN ORDINANCE condemning certain sidewalks in the City of Salina which are worn out or unfit for repair and providing for the reconstruction of such sidewalks and providing for the assessment of the cost thereof on the property abutting thereon. WHEREAS, certain sidewalks in the City of Salina,.Kansas, lying in front of and abutting upon theproperty hereinafter described,..,and worn out or unfit for repair, and it is necessary that new _sidewalks be constructed in front of and abutting upon such property, now therefore BE IT ORDAINED..by the Board of Commissioners of.the.City of Salina Kansas: Section 1. That the sidewalks now existing in front of and abutting upon the following described tracts and pieces of land in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Lot 13 and the North one-half of Lot 14 in Block 15 in Cunningham's replat. The East 65 feet of Lot 2 Block 12 in Riverside Park Addition; Lot 13 and the :East one-half of Lot 15 on Park'.:Street in Wilson Addition; Lot 66 on Ninth Street in the original town site of the City of Salina; Which said sidewalks are broken, sunken, out of repair, and off of the proper grade, and are in the judgment of the Board of Commissioners worn out or unfit for repair, be and the same are hereby condemned and ordered removed. Section 2. That the owners of each of the lots and parcels of land described in Section 1 of this ordinance be and they are hereby ordered to construct, in front of and abutting upon the said lots or parcels of land, concrete sidewalks constructed 'and laid in accordance aitth the provisions of Ordinance No. 2407 of the City of Salina and in accordance with the specifications therein contained, and in the position and at the grade to be furnished by the City Engineer of the City of Salina. Section 3. That if the owners of such lots or parcels of land shall fail within 30 days from and after the publication of this ordinance to construct such sidewlaks as herein provided, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina shall proceed.to construct or cause to be con- structed such sidewalks in accordance with the provisions of said Ordinance No. 2407 of said city and shall assess the cost thereof against such lots or parcels of land upon which such sidewalks shall abutt, and such cost so assessed shall be certified by the City Clerk to the County Clerk of Saline County Kansa to be collected as other taxes and assessments are collected. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication once in the official city paper. County -2 - Kansas to be collected as other taxes and assessments are collected. SECTION 4.
