AN ORDINANCE providing for a license tax upon certain itinerent or
transient persons not residents of the City of Salina,
Kansas, and providing a penalty for the violation of
this ordinance.
BE IT ORDAINED by, the Board of Commissioners of the.,City of Salina, M--.ia
Kansas: .
SECTION 1. That no itinerent or transient person not a resident
of the City of Salina, Kansas, shall hereafter engage in the work or
occupation of marcelling, waving, curling, dressing, or otherwise
treating ladies, hair, in the City of Salina, Kansas, without first
securing from the City Clerk a license therefore, and without first
paying to the City of Salina, the license tax in the sum of $15.00
per day, and any such person who shall engage in, follow, or pur-
sue such trade, calling or occupation, or who shall perform any
such work or any part thereof without first securing the license
and paying the license tax herein provided for shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined
any sum not less than $15.00 nor more than $50.00 for -each offense;
And provided further that any such work done or performed on or for
any one person in violation of this ordinance shall constitute a
separate offense.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its -publication once in the official city paper.
