AN ORDINANCE amending Section 1 of Ordinance No. u6048 entitled; "An Ord-
inance regulating, licensing and limiting the operation of
vehicles upon the streets and Avenue of the City of Salina,
Kansas, engaged in the carrying of passengers for hire be-
tween fixedpoints within the City of Salina, Kansas, and
without said City of Salina, Kansas, but whose route lies
over and through the streets and avenues within said City
of Salina, and providing penalties for the violation of this
ordinance:, and repealing said original section.l.
BE'IT ORDAINED by 'the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 3048 of the City of
Salina, entitled as above set forth, the same being Section 14-701 of the
Revised Ordinances 1925, be and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows: "14Q701. STAGES :;ND BUSSES DEFINED. Section 1. That the word
"vehicle".as used in this ordinance shall include amy vehicle however pro-
pelled except such as are run upon tracks or rails, employed in the bus-
iness of transporting passengers for hire between fixed points within the
City of Salina, Kansas, or between points either within or without said
City of Salina, Kansas, or between points wholly without said city of.
Salina, Kansas, but whose route lies over or through the streets of said
city of Salina, or any other Vehicle engaged in teansporting passengers
for hire either to or from any point within the City of Salina, where the
fere charged for each passenger, per trip, is less than 25 cents, the
owner of operator of such vehicle shall pay the license hereinafter re-
quired for each such vehicle, in addition to any license which,may have
been paid for the vehicles as a taxi -cab, if such vehicle, shall also
be operated within the provisions of.Ordinances of said city relating to
taxi -cabs and licenses therefor.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publicatipn once in the official city paper.

BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
