3200 SalariesAn Ordinance fixing the -salaries acid compensations to be paid to
certain officers and employees of the City of Salina, A-nsas,
and repealing certain ordinances and parts of ordinances of
said city.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the salaries and compensatioxs of the various
officers and employees of the City of Salina, Kansas, hereinafter
named, shall be as follows from and after the first day of January
1926;
City Manager ------------------------- $5000.00 per annum
City Clerk--------------------------- 2000.00 per annum
City Treasurer----------------------- 400.00 per annum
City Bookkeeper ---(Asst. City Clerk) --1440.00 per annum
City Manager s Stenographer---------- 1200.00 per annum
Custodian of City Bldg.-------------- 1200.00 per annum
Caretaker of Dump Grounds------------ 480.00 per annum
Custodian and Stale Manager of
Memorial Hall---------------------- 1500.00,per annum
City Engineer (Ex -officio Sanitary
and Health Officer)------------------ 3600.00 per annum
Assistant City Engineer---- ------ 1500.00 per annum
Superintendent of Streets------------ 1800.00 per annum
Superintendent df Parks-------------- 1800:00 per annum
Building Inspector------------------- 1900.00 per annum
Milk Inspector and Assistant
Sanitary Health officer --------------- 1800.00
provided that the duties of the officer last names thall include
laboratory analysis and typhoid culture release work and such
other analysis and inspections as may be required of him, except
those for which special compensation shall be agreed upon in advance
by the Board of Commissioners;
Provided further that the City Engineer, the Superintendent
of Streets, the Suprintendent of Parks, the Milk Inspector and
Building Inspector shall, without additional compensation or re-
imbursement other than their salaries above provided for , furnish
automobiles for their own use in connection with the duties of their
respective offices and shall pay for the necessary upkeep thereof,
including gasoline and oils, at their own expense.
Section 2. The following salaries shall be paid to the offices
and employees of the Water Works Lepartment:.
Superintendent --------------------------$3000,00 per annum
which shall include the use and upkeep of an automobile
to be furnished by such Superintendent for his own use
in connection with the duties of such office.
Consulting Engineer --------------------- 1000.00 per annum
which shall be in addition to his salary as City Engineer
Secretary and Cashier ------------------- 1200.00 per annum
Bookkeeper ------------------------------ 1080. per annum
Chief Plant Engineer -------------------- 1440.00 per annum
together with house rent, fuel and light
Three Assistant Plant Engineers ---------1440.00 per annum
Two.Service Men------------ ------- --- each
1440.00 per annum

Meter Reader--------------------------- 1200.00 per annum
Provided that each of the officers and employees above men-
tioned, exeept the Superintendent and Consulting Engineer, shall
perform .all the duties pertaining to their respective offices
or employment and such other duties as may at any time be pre-
scribed by the Superintendent. `
Section 3. Whenevercommon labor or other additional help is
is needed in any department of the City of'Salina, such help shall be em-
ployed by the head of the department needing the same, with the approval
of the City Manager, at the current price for the class of labor required
or at suchprice as -may be agreed upon between the employee and the head of
the department. .
Section 4. That Section 1 of Ordinance 2906;..Section 1 of
Ordinance No. 3060; Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2908; and all other ordin-
ances or'parts of ordinances in conflict with the foregoingSections of
this ordinance, be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after its publication in the official city paper.
