3992 Improvement BondsORDINANCE shed in the Salina Journal 1930 AN ORDINANCE authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $88,392.58 to pay the cost of constructing certain storm sewers in said city. WHEREAS, pursuant to proceedings duly had according to law contracts have been let and performed for the construction of certain improve- ments in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Storm Sewers No. 17-18-19; and 'WHEREAS, the total cost of said improvements has been ascertained according to the final estimates of cost prepared by the City Engineer and duly filed in the office of the City Clerk, the total cost of such storm sewers, so ascertained, being hereby determined and found to be the sum of $88,392.58, for which bonds shall be issued as here- inafter provided, NOV1 THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas; Section 1_ That for the purpose of providing funds to pay the cost of the improvements hereinbefore described, there shall be issued and hereby are issued Internal Improvement bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas in the total principal sum of $88,392.58 which issue shall consist of 89 bonds numbered from 1 to 89 inclusive, all dated November 1st, 1930 and which shall become due serially in denominations as follows: No. 1 for $392.58 due November 1st, 1931 Nos. 2 and 3 £or.41000 each, due November 1st, 1931 Nos. 4 to 7 inclusive for $$1000 each, due November 1st, 1932 Nos. 8 to 11 inclusive for $1000 each, due November lst, 1933 Nos. 12 to 15 inclusive for $1000 each, due November 1st, 1934 Nos. 16 to 19 inclusive for $1000 each, due November 1st, 1935 ' Nos. 20 to 23 inclusive for x$1000 each, due November 1st, 1936 Nos. 24 to 27 inclusive for $1000 each, due November 1st, 1937 Nos. 28 to 31 inclusive for $1000 each,' due November lst, 1938 Nos. 32 to 35 inclusive for $1000 each, due November 1st, 1939 Nos. 36 to 39 inclusive for $1000 each, due November 1st, 1940 Nos. 40 to 44 inclusive for $1000 each, due November 1st, 1941 Nos. 45 to 49 inclusive for $1000 each, due November 1st, 1942 Nos. 50 to 54 inclusive for $1000 each, due November lst, 1943 Nos. 55 to 59 inclusive for $1000 each, due November lst, 1944 Nos. 60 to 64 inclusive for x$1000 each, due November lst, 1945 Nos. 65 to 69 inclusive for $1000 each, due November 1st, 1946 Nos. 70 to 74 inclusive for x$1000 each, due November lst, 1947 Nos. 75 to 79 inclusive for$1000 each, due November 1st, 1948 Nos. 80 to 84 inclusive for $1000 each, due November 1st, 1949 Nos. 65 to 89 inclusive for $$1000 each, due November 1st, 1950 All of said bonds shall bear interest at the rate of 44 per cent per annum, payable semi-annually on May lst and November lst in each ,year. Section 2 Said bonds shall be executed by the Mayor and shall be attested by the City Clerk, and the corporate seal of the.city shall be affixed thereto. Said bonds shall have attached hereto interest coupons representing the interest thereon and said interest coupons shall bear the fac-simile signatures of the Mayor and City Clerk of said city. Section 3. Said bonds shall be in the form and shall contain recitals substantially as follows: a No. UNITED STATES OF A7^ERICA STATE OF KANSAS COUNTY OF SALINE CITY OF SALINA INTERNAL IMPROVEMENT BOND KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That the City of Salina, in the County of Saline, State of Kansas, acknowledges itself to be in- debted and for value received hereby prom`ses to pay to the bearer the sum of Dollars in lawful money of the United States of America, on the first day of November 19`, with interest thereon from the date hereof at the rate of four and one-fourth per cent (44) per annum, payable semi- annually on the first days of May and November in each year, on presentation and surrender of the interest coupons hereto annexed as said coupons severally become due, both principal and interest of this bond being payable at the office of the State Treasurer of the State of Kansas, in the City of Topeka, Kansas. And said City of Salina, Kansas is held and firmly bound by these presents and the full faith, credit and resources of said city are hereby irrevocably pledged for the payment of said principal and interest at maturity. This bond is one of a series of 89 bonds of like date and tenor, excepting denomination and maturity, aggregating the principal sum of $88,392.58, issued by the City of Salina, Kansas, for the purpose of paying the cost of constructing certain storm se,,,iers in said city by the authority of and in full compliance with the pro- visions, restrictions and limitations of the constitution and laws of the State of Kansas, including Sections to of the Revised Statutes of Kansas 1923, and all amendments thereof, and all other provisions of the laws of said state applicable there to, and this bond and all other bonds of this series, and all in- terest thereon are to be paid by the City of Salina, Kansas. And it is hereby declared and certified that all acts, con- ditions and things required to be done and to exist precedent to and in the issuance of this bond have been properly done and per- formed and do exist in due and regular form and manner as required by the Constitution and laws of the State of kansas, and that the total indebtedness of said city, including this series of bonds, does not exceed any constitutional or statutory limitation.
