3984 Regulating TrafficORDINANCE NO. 3984 (Published in the Salina Journal Yt - 1930) AN ORDINANCE relating to and r gulating traffic on certain streets in the City of Salina, and-roviding a penalty for the violation of this ordinance. BE IT ORDAINED bar the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. It shall be unlawful for the driver of any automobile or other vehicle to drive such vehicle in any street adjacent to any -:ublic or parochial school in the City of Salina or into or through any intersection of streets adjacent to any such school at any time Then school children are approaching or are being released from any such school, without first coming to a complete stop whenever any sign or signal directing the driver of such vehicle to stop is displayed in such street, either by means of a sign placed in the street for such purpose or by a sign or signal held or given by any person for such purpose, whether such j�erson be a police officer or any other person designated by the authorities of any such school for such purpose, and it shall be unlawful for the driver of any such vehicle to proceed along any such street when any such sign or signal shall have been given, until such street is clear of school children and until the person giving such signal shal 1 have signalled the dirver of any such vehicle to proceed. All signs or signals displayed or used in carrying out the provisions of this ordinance shall be of a uniform type and shall be approved by the Chief of Police, and this ordinance shall be enforced under the general supervision of the Chief of Police. Section 2. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions �-f this ordinance, by failing; to stop when any such sign or signal is displayed or given or -.,ho shall proceed along any such streets after any such signal is given until the person giving the same shall signal the driver to proceed, or in any other manner, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall_ be fined not less than $5.00 nor more than $25.0'1-? for each offense.
