AN ORDINANCE relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- �
ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina
to pay the cost of paving Greenway Road from the south line of
Crestview Drive to the north line of Overhill Road in the City
of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the col-
i
lection and payment of such assessments.
BE I'T ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Se6tion 1. That fox' the purpose of paying for the cost of �

paving Greenway Road from the south line of Crestview Drive to the
north line of Overhill Road in the City of Salina, Kansas, there are
hereby levied and assessed on the property liable therefor, being
all the lots and pieces of ground lying on either side of said street

above mentioned for the distance improved as aforesaid to the center
of the block, according to the appraised value of such lots and pieces

of ground without regard to the buildings or improvements thereon, i
sl;ecial assessments covering the cost of such work and improvements,
said special assessments being based on the special valuation and
appraisement of said lots and nieces of ground heretofore made by
three disinterested appraisers appointed by the Board of Commissioners
of the City of Salina, Kansas, which said appraisement is hereby re- I

ferred to and made a part of this ordinance, and the several amounts
levied, apportioned and assessed against such lots and Nieces of ground

for the purpose aforesaid are hereby found and determined to be as
follows:

Section 2. Said amounts levied, apportioned and assessed afore-
said shall be due and collectible in ten equal installments, the first
j becoming due with the taxes levied for the year 1931 and one of said
i
installments falling due each and eversr year thereafter until all are
i
r paid, and all to be collected with interest as in this ordinance pro-
f
I vided, PROVIDED HOVIEVER, that the owner of any piece of property liable
i
s for any such assesment may redeem his property from such liability by t
I
i
paying into the City Treasury the entire amount chargeable against the
i
same, as in this ordinance designated, at any time within thirty days
i
after the publication of this ordinance and before the issuance of the
i
bonds of said city in r.ayment of the balance of said improvements, and
his pro,erty so paid on shall not thereafter be liable for any further
assessments for the cost of said improvements, nor for any part of said
i
bonds.
i
Section 3. -`here is hereby further levied and assessed against
each lot and piece of ground described in this ordinance not to exceed
4.' per cent interest per annum on all of said installments therein
r
mentioned from the date of the bonds, which may be issued at the end
of thirty days, as specified in the preceding section hereof, as by law
provided, to the time of collection of the last installment, as I:rol-ided
by law, which said interest shall be collected annually at the same tine
and in the same manner as said installments are collected; and after the
s
taking effect of this ordinance it shall be the duty of. the City Clerk
of said city to annually, at the same time other taxes are certified,
and until all of said assessments so aportioned and levied herein
have been certified, to certify to the County Clerk of Saline County,
Kansas, a full list of all proerty liable to assessment and taxation
for such work and improvement, except such property on which the special
assessments aforesaid have been paid in full as hereinbefore provided,
together with the respective amounts due on each of such lots and pieces
of ground, 1�rhich amounts shall include the annual installments cf such
special assessments together ,.-,ith the interest for one year at the rate
of not to exceed 41 per cent per annum, (the rate borne by the bonds
to be issued) on all unpaid balances of such assessments at the beginning
of each such year as aforesaid, and such amounts so certified as herein
provided shall be placed upnn the tax roll by the County Clerk of Saline
County, Kansas and collected as all other taxes are collected.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
from and after its � ublication once in -h-e official cit7T paper.

An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess-
ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Saline
to pay the cost of paving gelvgRoad from the south line of

BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That for the purpose -of paying for the cost of
paving Greenway Road from the south line of Crestview Drive to the
north line of Overhill Road in the City of Salina, Kansas, there are
hereby levied and assessed on the property liable therefor, being all
the lots and pieces of ground lying on either side of said street above
mentioned for the distance improved as aforesaid to the center of the
block, according to the appraised value of such lots'end*pieces of ground
without regard to the buildings or improvements thereon, special assess-
ments covering the cost of such work and improvements, said special
assessments being based on the special valuation and appraisement of
said lots and pieces of ground heretofore made by three disinterested
