AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor
Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing,
guttering and paving improvements on certain streets in the
City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary
notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale
of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, of the
pro-�_osal of H. J. Taylor Construction Company hereinafter referred
to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on
April 27, 1931, which is hereby found and determined by the Board
of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on be-
half of the city by its Mayor on April 27, 1931, for the construe -
tion of certain improvements in the City of Salina, to -wit:
Paving Overhill Road from the south line of Crestview
Drive to the east line of Greenway Road, as provided
for by Ordinance No. 4047.
Paving Greenway Road from the south line of Crestview
Drive to the north line of Overhill Road, as provided
for by Ordinance No. 4048.
Paving Fairdale Road from the end of the existing paving
at the south line oT Lot 12, Block 4, Country Club Heights
Addition to the north line of Overhill Road, as provided
for by Ordinance No. 4049.
Curbing, guttering and paving Penn Avenue from the south
line of:Iron-Avenue to the north line of -Gypsum Avenue,
as provided for by Ordinance No. 4046.
Curbing and guttering south side of Jewell Avenue from
the west line of Ninth Street to the east line of -tenth Streets,
as provided for by Ordinance No. 4045.
Paving alley between Fifth Street and Fourth Street from
the south side of Ash Street to a r-oint 200 feet north of
the north line of Iron Avenue, as provided for by Ordinance
No. 4044,
at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal,
which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts
of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed,
said prolosal being within the estimated cost of said improvements
as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the
office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and
made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed
in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared
by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and
in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the
terms of said contract, all of v,!hich are hereby referred to and made
parts of this ordinance.

Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and

attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work
progresses in the manner and form as required by lawn, the total
amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such
notes to bear interest not to exceed 4-1/4% per annum and to mature
not later than December 31, 1931, and to be issued in such amounts
and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such work
may required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be
redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued
in lieu thereof.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication in the official city paper.

Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, of
the proposal of H. J. Taylor Construction Company hereinafter
referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Com-
missioners on April 27, 1931, which is hereby found and determined
to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded
by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said contractor and
signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on April 27, 1931, for
the construction of certain public improvements in the City of
Salina, to -wit:
Paving Overhill Road from the south line of Crestview
Drive to the east line of Greenway Road, as provided
for by Ordinance No. 4047.
Paving GreenwRoad from the south line of Crestview
Drive to tt e a nor& line of Overhill Road, as provided
for by Ordinance No. 4048.
