AN ORDINANCE providing for the construction of a certain storm sewer
in the City of Salina to be designated as Storm Sewer No. 19 and
providing for the issuance of improvement bonds to pay the cost
thereof.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas.
Section 1. Storm Sewer No. 19. That it is necessary and it is
hereby ordered that a storm sewer which is hereby designated as
Storm Sewer No. 193, together with all necessary inlets, connections
and other a-�17.urtenances be constructed in the City of Salina on the
following course, to -wit:
Beginning at inlets to be constructed in Kansas Avenue approximately
500 ft. north of the north line of Elm Street; thence north in Kansas
Avenue as an 15" sewer approximately 525 ft. to a manhole to be con-

structed in Riverside Drive; thence north approximately 20 ft. to the
Smoky Bill River.
Section 2. That on or before September 29, 1930, the City Engineer
shall prepare and file in the office of the City Clerk detailed plans
and specifications for the construction of the storm sewer provided
for in Section 1 of this ordinance, with vitrified sewer pipe, and such
other types of sewer as said Engineer may deem advisable, and on or be-
fore the same date shall prepare and file in the office of the City
Clerk, under oath, a detailed estimate of the cost thereof. After such
plans and specifications and estimated cost shall have been filed, as
aforesaid, the City Clerk shall advertise, by advertisements published
in the official city paper for at least three consecutive days, for
sealed proposals for the buil-ding and construction of such storm sewer,
and at the time and place mentioned, the Board of Commissioners may
contract with the lowest and best responsible bidder therefor, for the
building and construction of such storm sewer, but the right to reject
any and all prop sals shall be and the same is hereby reserved, and
any contract awarded for such work shall provide for the furnishing
by such contractor of performance and maintenance bonds, and for a
statutory bond, in amounts equal to the full cost of such work, ,,1hich

shall be apTroved by the Board of Commissioners before any such work
shall be commenced.
Section 3. That for the purpose of paying the cost of such improve-
ments, the Board of Commissioners shall issue improvement bonds of the
City of Salina, Kansas, in an amount not to exceed the total cost of
such work and improvements, to be payable in ten approximately equal
annual instalments and to bear interest at not to exceed 5 per annum
from the date of such bonds, and for the purp-se of paying such

bonds and interest as they severally mature, the Board of Com-
missioners shall annually levy a tax upon all real and personal
property in the City of Salina in an amount sufficient to pay the
annual instalments of such principal and interest, and that pending

the issue of such bonds, temporary notes shall be issued according
to law, to pay the cost of such work.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication in the official city paper.
