AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with L. -,. Rexroad
for the construction of curbing and guttering "oodland Avenue
from Santa Fe Avenue to Seventh Street, and providing for the
issuance of temporary notes to ;ay the cost thereof pending
the issuance and sale of bonds.
BE I`r' ORDAIN12D by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, of the
pro1,osa1 of L. V. Rexroad hereinafter referred to as the "Uontractor"
as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on July 14th, 1930, which
is hereby found and determined to be the lo�est and best bid for
such work, and the contract awarded by the lJoard of Commissioners of
said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the city by
its Mlayor on July 14th, 1930, for the construction of certain publb
improvements in the City of Salina, to-wvit:
Curbing and guttering ��;oodland Avenue from the wrest line
of Santa Fe Avenue to the east line of Seventh Street, as
provided for by Ordinance No. 3911
at and for the unit prices for said �,.-ork contained in said proposal
,hich proposal and contract are hereby referred to and 'rade parts
of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed,
said proposal being v-.'ithin the estimated cost of said improvements
as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the
office of the City ''lerk, 11;hich estimates are hereby referred to and
made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said iiprovements shall be built and constructed
in accordance ith the plans and specifications therefor prepared
by the CitIT Engineer on file in the office of the City �'lerk and
in accordance -pith the proposal of said contractor and under the
terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made
parts of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary rotes signed by the Mayor and
attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as t1 -Le work
progresses in the manner and form as required by la,,,,,, the total
amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such
notes to bear interest not to e---ceed 42 per cent per annum and to
mature not later than December 31st, 1930, and to be issued in such
amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such
r,ork may be required, such notes to be issued to said con`ractor and
to be redeemeef and cancelled at the time that permament bonds are
issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and bc� in force
from and after its 1;ublication in the official city paper.

An Ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain
claim.
BE IT ORDAINED by.the Board of Con issioners of the City of Salina
Kansas:
Section 1. That the sum of $440.54 be and the same is
hereby appropriated to L. W. Rexroad from the Special Paving Fund
T
in the City Treasury for the payment of Final Estimate, Job No.
57-A, for materials furnished and labor performed in the con-
struction of paving improvements on Third Street from Iron Avenuw
south to the Smoky Hill River, under contract dated May 5, 1930.
Section 2. That a Temporary i4ote of the City of Salina,
Kansas, be issued for the payment of the claim mentioned in Section
l of this ordinance, said Temporary Note to be payable on or before
fl`�days from date, and to draw interest at the rate of four and
one half per cent (420) per annum.
Section 3.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage.

issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending
the issuance and sale of bonds.

and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board
of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on
behalf of the city by its Mayor on July 14th, 1930, for the con-
struction of certain public improvements in the pity of Salina,
to -wit:
Curbing and guttering Woodland Avenue from the west line
of Santa Fe Avenue to the east line of Seventh Street, as pro-
vided for by "rdinance No. 3911.
at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal
which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts
of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed,
said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements
as shown by the sworn estimates of the �'ity Engineer on file in the
office of the City "'lerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and
made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2 Said improvements shall be built and constructed

amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work,
such notes to bear interest not to exceed 42 per cent per annum
and to mature not later than December 31st, 1930, and to be issued
in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the
cost of such work may be required, such notes to be issued to said
contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent
bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section _4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication in the official city paper.
