AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract for the building
and construction of certain lateral sanitary sewers in Lateral
Sanitary Sewer Districts No. 147 and 160, and providing for
the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending
issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED b -r the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina
Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the
proposal of R. C. Snyder, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor"

as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on July 14, 1930, which
is hereby found and determined to be the lowest and best bid for
such -,%,ork, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of
said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the city by

the Mayor on July 14, 1930, for the construction of certain lateral
sanitary sewers in Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts No. 147 and 160

as provided for in Ordinance No. 3900 and 3913 at and for the unit
prices contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are
hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same
is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being ,vithin the
estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate
of the City Engineer filed in the office of the City Clerk, which

estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. That said lateral sanitary sewers shall be built
and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications
therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the
I City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of the said contractor
and under the terms of said contract entered into between the city
and said contractor on July 14th, 1930, which said plans, specificatior4
proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this
ordinance, said work to be done and the material, equipment, appliances
and appurtenances necessary and required in connection therewith to
be performed and furniwhed in accordance with said glance and speci-
fications, conditioned horrever uon the furnishing by the contractor
of the contract, maintenance and satutory bonds within the time
required of said contract.
Section 3. That temporaly notes signed by the Mayor and

attested by the City �;lerk be issued from time toti-ne as the work

v:rogresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total
amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such
notes to bear interest not to exceed 4-1/2% per annum and to be
issued in such amounts and at such time as money fcr the payment
of the cost of such work may be required, such notes to be
issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the
time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its pul,licaticn in the official city paper.

AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract for the building

payment of the cost of such work may be required, such notes to be
issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the
time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
