AN ORDINANCE authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvement
Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of 094,331.63, to
pay the cost of improving certain streets and alleys in said city.
WHEREAS, pursuant to proceedings duly had according to law, contracts
have been let and performed for the construction of the following street
improvements in said city:
Paving Center Street from Fifth to entrance to �'enwood Park
Curbing, guttering and paving Chicago Street from Ash St. to State St.
Curbing, guttering and paving Columbia Avenue from Ash. St. to Iron Avenue
Curbing, guttering and paving Ellsworth Avenue from Highland Avenue to
Ninth Street.
Curbing, guttering and paving Gypsum Avenue from Ohio Street to -
Columbia Avenue
Curbing, guttering and paving Highland Avenue from Claflin Avenue
to Cloud Street.
Curbing, guttering and paving Prescott Avenue from Eleventh Street
to Twelfth Street.
Paving of unpaved portion of Santa Fe Avenue from. Lincoln Avenue to
Harsh Street.
Curbing, guttering and paving Seventh Street from Elm Street to North
Street.
Curbing, guttering and paving Front Street from Pine Street to North.
Street.
Curbing, guttering and paving Park Place from Oakdale Avenue to Oakdale
Drive.
Curbing, guttering and paving Washington Avenue from Tenth Street to
Eleventh Street.
Paving Center of Santa Fe from Harsh Street to Otis Street.
Paving Third Street from Iron Avenue south to Smoky Hill River.
Curbing and guttering Woodland Avenue from Seventh Street to Santa
Fe Avenue.
NHEREAS, the total cost of said improvements has been ascertained,
and the total portion thereof to be paid by a general tax to be levied
upon all the taxable property within said city for the improvement of
squares and areas formed by the crossing of streets and alleys, and
for the iml.rovement of any of said streets where the same is through
or adjacent to pro- erty of the city for which the city is liable, and
for which bonds shall be issued as hereinafter provided, has been as-
certained and is hereby determined and found to be the sum of $14,511.09;
and
;HEREAS, the portion of said street improvements to be paid by
special assessment levied upon the lots and pieces of ground liable
for the pa7ment of said street improvements has been ascertained and
is hereby found and determined to be the sum of $95,396.04, which said
last amount has been heretofore duly assessed and apT:ortioned to the
several lots and pieces of ground on slzch streets liable therefor,
payable in ten equal instalments, according to law, and as provided
in the ordinances of the City of Salina relating thereto duly passed
and approved of which amount the sum of X15,575.50 has been paid by the
property owners liable therefore leaving a balance for which bonds are
to be issued in the sum of $94,331.63, NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That for the purpose of providing funds to pay
the cost of the improvements hereinbefore described, there shall
be issued and hereby are issued Internal Improvement Bonds of the
City of Salina, Kansas, in the total principal sum of $94,331.63,
said issue shall consist of 95 bonds, numbered from 1 to 95 in -
elusive, all dated May lst, 1930, and shall become due serially
in denominations as follows:
No. 1 for 331.63 due May 1, 1931
No. 2 to 5 inclusive X1,000 each, due May 1, 1931
No. 6 to 15 inclusive y1,000 each, due May 1, 1932
No. 16 to 25 inclusive 41,000 each, due May 1, 1933
No. 26 to 35 inclusive �P�1,000 each, due May 1, 1934
No. 36 to 45 inclusive ��1,000 each, due May 1, 1935
No. 46 to 55 inclusive 1,000 each, due May 1, 1936
No. 56 to 65 inclusive X1,000 each, due May 1, 1937
No. 66 to 75 inclusive X1,000 each, due May 1, 1938

All of said bonds bear interest at the rate of 42/ per annum,
payable semi-annually on May lst and November lst in each year,
except that the first interest on all of said bonds shall become
due and payable on May lst, 1931.
Section 2. Said bonds shall be executed by the Mayor and
shall be attested by the City Clerk, and the corE,orate seal of
the City shall be affixed thereto. Said bonds shall have attached
thereto interest coupons representing the interest thereon and said
interest coupons shall bear the fac-simile signatures of the Mayor
and City Clerk of said city.

County of Saline, State of Kansas, a ckno�,,ledges itself to be in-
debted and for value received hereby promises to pay to the bearer
the sum of Dollars
in lawful money of the United States of "merica, on the first day
of May 19 , with interest thereon from the date hereof at the rate
of four anci one-quarter per cent (44) per annum, payable semi-annually
on the first dazes of May and November in each year, on presentation
and surrender of the interest coupons hereto annexed as said coupons
severally become due, both principal and interest of this bond being
payable at the office of the State Tr,oasurer of the State of Kansas,
in the City of Topeka, Kansas. And. said City of Salina, Kansas is
I and firmly bound by these presents and the full faith, credit
and resources of said city are hereby irrevocably pledged for the
payment of said principal and inte est at maturity.
This bond is one of a series of 95 bonds of like date and tenor,
excepting denomination and riiaturity, ag ;rer;ating the principal sum
of X94,331.63, issued by the City of Salina, Kansas for the purpose
of paying the cost of improving certain streets and alleys in said
city, by the authority of and in full compliance with the provisi�-ns,
restrictions and limitations of the constitution and laws of the State
of Kansas, including Sections 10-101 to 10-115, 12-601 to 12-610 of
the Revised Statutes of Kansas 1923, and all amendments thereof, and
all other provisions of the laws of said state applicable thereto, and
this bond and all of the other bonds of this series, and all interest
therc;on are to be paid by the City of Salina, 'iansas.
And it is hereby declared and certified that all acts, conditions
and things required to be done and to exist precedent to and in the
issuance of this bond have been roper17 done and Ierformed and do
exist in due and regular form and manner as required b- the Consti-
tution and laws of the State of Kansas, and that the total indebtedness
of said city, including this series of bonds, does not exceed anv
constitutional or statutory limitation.
IN 1I`I'NESS :IILRi�'UF, the said City of Salina, Kansas, has xecuted
this bond by causing it to be signed by its 14ayor and its corporate
seal to be hereto affixed, attested by its City Clerk, and the coupons
