3932 Levy AssessmentsORDINANCE NO. 3932 (-PubUah—@d -ln. th>o--Salina__ Journal AA< ORDINANCE relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the cost of curbing, guttering and paving Woodland Avenue from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue to the east line of Seventh Street in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and Pro- v viding for the collection and payment of such assessments. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. Said amounts levied, apportioned and assessed aforesaid shall be due and collectible in ten equal installments, the first becoming due with the taxes levied for the year 1930 and one of said installments falling due each and every year thereafter until all are paid, and all to be collected with in- terest as in this ordinance provided; PROVIDED HOWEVER, that the owner of any piece of property liable for any such a ssessment may redeem his property from such liability by paying into the City Treasury the entire amount chargeable against the same, as in this ordinance designated, at any time within thirty days after the publication of this ordinance and before the issuance of the bonds of said city in payment of the balance of said im- provements, and his property so paid on shall not thereafter be liable for any further assessments for the cost of said improve- ments, nor for any part of said bonds. + Section 3. There is hereby further levied and assessed against each lot and piece of ground described in this ordinance 4.1er cent interest 2 P per annum on all of said installments there- in mentioned from the date of the bonds, which may be issued at the end of thirty days, as specified in the preceding section hereof, as by law provided, to the time of collection of the last installment, as pr.-vided by law, which said interest shat 1 be collected annually at the same time and in the same manner as i said installments are collected; and after the taking effect of this ordinance it shall be the duty of the City �'lerk of said city to annually, at the same time other taxes are certified, and until all of said assessments so aprortioned and levied here- in have been certified, to certify to the County Clerk of Saline 4 County, Kansas, a full list of all property liable to assessment and taxation for such work and improvement, except such property I on which the special assessments aforesaid have been paid in full. as hereinbefore provided, together with the respective amounts due, on each of such lots and pieces of � ground, which amounts shall include the annual installments of such special assessments to - 9 ether o-gether with the interest for one year at the rate of 42 per annum, on all unpaid balances of such assessments at the beginning of eacjW year as aforesaid, and such amounts so certified as herein provided shall be placed upon the tax roll by the County Clerk of Saline County, Kansas and collected as all other taxes are collected.
