AN ORDINANCE relating to and apportioning and levying special assess-
ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina to pay_,the cost of paving Prescott Avenue from the
west line of ileventh Street to the east line of Twelfth
Street in the Sity of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and
providing for the collection and payment of such assessments.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas.
Section 1. That for the purpose of paying for the cost of
paving Prescott Avenue from the west line of Lloventh Street to
the east line of Twelfth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas,
there are hereby levied and assessed on the property liable therefor,
being all the lots and pieces of ground lying on either side of
said street above mentioned for the distance improved as aforesaid
to the center of the block, according to the appraised value of such
lots and pieces of g round, without regard to the buildings or im-
provements thereon, special assessments covering thn cost of such
work and improvements, said special assessments being based on the
special valuation and appraisement of said lots and pieces of g round
heretofore made by three disinterested appraisers ap--ointed by the
Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, which said
appraisement is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance,
and the several amounts levied, apportioned and assessed against
such lots and pieces of ground for the purpose aforesaid are hereby
found and determined to be as follows:

Section 2. Said amounts levied, apportioned and assessed
aforesaid shall be due and collectible in ten equal installments,
the first becoming due with the taxes levied for the year 1930
and one of said installments falling due each and every year
thereafter until all are said, and all to be collected with in-
terest as in this ordinance provided; PROVIDED HO'L,iEVER, that the
owner of any piece of property liable for any such assessment may
redeem his property from such liability by paying into the Oity
Treasury the entire amount chargeable against the same, as in
this ordinance designated, at any time within thirty days after
the publication of this ordinance and before the issuance of the
bonds Of said city in payment of the balance of said improvements,
and his property so paid on shall not thereafter be liable for any
further assessments for the cost of said improvements, nor for any
part of said bonds.
Section 3. There is hereby further levied and assessed
against each lot and piece of ground described in this ordinance
41per cent interest per annum on all of said installments therein

mentioneC from the date of the bonds, which may be issued at the end
of thirty days, as specified in the preceding section hereof, as by
law provided, to the time of collection of the last installment,
as provided by law, which said interest shall be collected annually
at the same time and in the sane manner as said installments are
collected; and after the taking effect of this ordinance it shall
be the duty of the `'ity �'lerk of said city to annually, at the same
time other taxes are certified,and until all of said assessments so
apportioned and levied herein have been certified., to certify to the
County Clerk of Saline County, Kansas, a full list of all property
liable to assessment and taxation for such work and improvement, except
such property on which the special assessments aforesaid have been
paid in full. as hereinbefore provided, together with the respective
amounts due on each of such lots and pieces of ground -which amounts
include the annual installments of such special assessments together
with the inter-st for one, year at the ra,-e of 4-11% per anntim,, on all
unpaid balaneds of such assessments at the beginning of each such
year as aforesaid, and such amounts so certified as herein provided
shall be placed upon the tax roll by the County Clerk of Saline County,
Kansas and collected as all other taxes are collected.

Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after its publication once in the official city

An Ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the
City of Salina to pay the cost of paving Prescott Avenue
from the west line of Eleventh Street to th—eeasf line
of Twelfth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas, and
relating to and providing for the collection and payment
of such assessments.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That for the purpose of paying for the ccs t of
paving Prescott Avenue from the west line of Eleventh Street to
the east line of Twelfth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas,
there are hereby levied and assessed on the property liable therefor,
being all the lots and pieces of ground lying on either side of

Section. There is hereby further levied and assessed
against each lot and piece of ground described in this ordinance
___4L per cent interest per annum. on all of said installments
therein mentioned from the date of the bonds, which may be issued
aL the end of thirty days, as specified in the preceding section
hereof, as by law provided, to the time of collection of the last
installment, as provided by law, which said interest shall be
collected annually at the same time and in the same manner as
said installments are collected; and after the taking effect of
this ordinance it shall be the duty of the City Clerk of said
city to annually, at the same time other taxes are certified,
and until all of said assessments so apportioned and _levied here-
in have been certified, co certify to the Count; Clerk of Saline
County, Kansas, a full list of all property liable to assessment
and taxation for such work and improvement, except such property
on which the special assessments aforesaid have been paid in full
as hvreinbefore provided, together with the respective amounts
due on each of such lots and pieces of ground, which amounts shall
'nclude the annual installments of such. special assessments tc-
,;e+Ler with the inter. est for one year at the rate of �� per
annum, on all unpaid balances of such assessments at the begin-
-,ir.z of each such year as aforesaia, and such amounts so certi-
;Ied as herein provided. shall be placed upon the tax roll by the
'c-unty Clerk of Saline County, Kansas and collected as all other

Section 4 ,This ordinance shall take effect and be in Full
