4248 Recurbing Santa Fe AvenueORDINANCE NO. 4248 (Published in the Salina Journal _ 1933) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the recurbing of Santa Fe Avenue from Walnut Street to Ash Street in the City of Salina, and for the repaving of Santa Fe Avenue from Walnut Street to Elm Street in the Citv of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, of the proposal of H. J. Taylor Construction Company hereinafter re- ferred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Com- missioners on March 1, 1933, which is hereby found and d dtermined to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the city by its Mayor on March 1, 1933, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, to -wit: Repaving Santa Fe Avenue from the north line of Elm Street to the south line of Walnut Street, as pro- vided for by Ordinance No. 4235. Recurbing of Santa Fe Avenue from the north lire of Ash Street to the south line of Walnut Street, as pro- vided for by Ordinance No. 4236, at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said pro- posal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, sudh notes to bear interest not to exceed 4% per annum, and to mature not later than July 1, 1933, and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such work may be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. 102 Section 4.
