AN ORDINANCE levying special assessments against certain property
to pay the cost of constructing certain water and sewer ser-
vice pipes in certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners have heretofore ordered
the owners of the property hereinafter described to lay water and
sewer service pipes from the water and sewer mains in the streets
abutting thereon at the back of the curb line in said streets, prior
to the paving thereof, and
WHEREAS, notice was duly given by publication in the official
city paper of said order and the owners of the property hereinafter
described did not within thirty days after the last publication of
said notice lay said service c)ipes and the City laid or caused the
same to be laid, pursuant to Section 12-832 to 12-833 of the Re-
vised Statutes of Kansas, 1923, and the cost thereof has been as-
certained, and remains unpaid by the property owners liable therefor;
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That there be and thereis hereby levied and
assessed against each of the lots and parts of lots hereinafter

described a special tax or assessment for the purpose of paying

that part of the cost of constructing and laying said water or sewer
service pipes taxable against such lots and parts of lots, in the
various amounts set opposite the following described lots and parts
of lots, to -wit:

Lot 35, Kirwin Avenue - - - - 16.50
Lot 23, n n - - - - 7.20
Lot 25, " " - - - - 7.20
Lot 34, " - - - - 12.00

Section 2. The City Olerk is hereby directed and authorized
to Eertify such assessments to the County clerk of Saline County,
Kansas, to be placed upon the tax roll for collection, subject to
the same penalties and collected in like manner as other taxes,
with interest at 6% per annum.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication in the official city paper.
