AN ORDINANCE relating to and apportiong and levying special assess-
ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City bf Salina
to pay the cost of improving certain portions of Ninth Street
from -the south line of Jewell Avenue to center line of Cloud
Street in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and
providing for the collection and payment of such assessments.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
.. Section 1. That for the purpose of paying for that part of
the cost of improving certain portions of Ninth Street from the
south line of Jewell Avenue to center line of Uloud Street in the
City of Salina, Kansas, which is chargeable to private property,
and which is hereby determined to be the sum of $371.70, there are
hereby levied and assessed on the property liable therefor, being
all the lots and pieces of ground lying on either side of said
street above mentioned for the distance improved as aforesaid to
the center of the block according to the appraised value of such
lots and pieces of ground without regard to the buildings or
improvements thereon, special assessments covering the cost of
such work and improvements, said special assessments being based
on the special valuation and appraisement of said lots and pieces
of ground heretofore made by three disinterested appraisers
appointed by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas, which said appraisement is hereby referred to and made
a part of this ordinance, and the several amounts levied, apportioned
qnd assessed against such lots and pieces of ground for the purpose
aforesaid are hereby found and determined to be as follows:

Section 2. Said amounts levied, apportioned and assessed as
aforesaid, shall b e due and collectible with the taxes levied for
the year 1932 provided that the woner of any lot liable for such
assessment may redeem his property from such liability by paying
Into the City Treasury the amount chargeable against the same at
any time within thirty days after the publication of this ordinance,
and the City 61erk shall certify all assessments which remain un-
paid at the end of thirty days, to the County Clerk to be placed
upon the tax roll and collected as other taxes are collected, with
interest at 6% per annum.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication once in the official city paper.

AN ORDINANCE relating to and apportioning and levying special assess-
ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina
