4186 Improvement BondsORDINANCE NO. 4186 0 AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with K. J. Taylor construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering and paving improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of Temporary Notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That thea eceptance by the Uity of Salina, of the proposal of H. J. Taylor Construction Company hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on July 15, 1932, which is hereby found and determined to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on July 15, 1932, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, to -wit: Job No. 71-A Section 1 - construction of curb and gutter on the north side of Republic Avenue from the west line of Ninth Street to the east line of Tenth Street. Section II - Construction of bituminous mat surfacing on Ninth Street from the south line of Jewell Avenue to the north line of Cloud Street at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, saidproposal being within the estimated xost of said improvements qs shown by the sworn estimates of the City Bngineer on file in the office of the City `'lark, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Seection 2, Said improvements shallb a built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the C ity Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and undf-r the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 4-1/4% per annum, and to mature not later than September 15th, 1932, and to be issued in such amounts and at such timea, s money for the payment of the cost of such work may be required, such notes to be issued to said con- traotor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Taylor Construction Company hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on July 15, 1932, which is hereby found and determined to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on July 15, 1932, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina to -wit: Job No. 71-A Section 1 - Construction of curb and gutter on the north side of Republic Avenue from the west line of Ninth Street to the east line of Tenth Street. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 4-1/4% per annum, and to mature not later than September 15th, 1932, and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such work may be required, such notes to be issued to said con- tractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
