AN ORDINANCE lev71'Z special assessments against certain property
to pay the cost of constructing certain water and sewer
service pipes in a certain street in the City of Salina,
Kansas.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners have heretofore ordered
the owners of the pro;erty hereinafter described to lay water and
sewer service pipes from the water and sewer mains in the streets
abutting thereon at the back of the curb line in said streets,
-prior to the paving thereof, and
or¢'HEREAS, notice was duly given by publication in the official
city paper of said order and the owners of the property herein-
after described did not within thirty days after the last Publica-
tion of said notice lay said service pipes and the city laid or
caused the same to be laid, pursuant to Section 12-832 to 12-833
of the Revised Statutes of Kansas, 1923, and the cost thereof has
been awe ertained, and remains unpaid by the property owners liable
therefor; NOS: THREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That there be and there is hereby levied and assess-
ed against each of the lots and parts of lots hereinafter described,
a special tax or assessment for the purpose of pa7Ting that part of
the cost of constructing and laying said water or sewer service
pipes taxable against such lots and parts of lots, in the various
amounts set opposite the folloxing described lots and parts of lots,
to -wit:
_Oakdale Addition _
Lot 19, Block 7 - - - - - - - X27.50
Lot 20, it 7 - - - - - - - 27.50
Section 2. That the owner of any piece of property liable
for any such assessment may redeem his property from such liability
by saying into the City Treasury the amount chargeable against the
same, as in this ordinance provided, and the City Clerk is directed
to give notice of such assessments, by mail, to such owners, and
the City Clerk is hereby directed and authorized after the expira-
tion of said thirty days to certify any of such assessments as then
remain unpaid to the County Clerk of Saline County, Kansas, to be
placed upon the tax roll for collection, subject to the same penalties
and collected in like manner as other taxes, -lith interest at 65
per annum.
Section 3. This ^rdinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication in the official city parer.

An Ordinance levying special assessments_ against certain property

service pipes in a certain street in the City of Salina,
Kansas.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners have heretofore ordered

and sewer service pipes from the water and sewer mains in the

WHEREAS, notice was duly given by publication in the official
city paper of said order and .the owners of the property herein- \
after described did not within thirty days after the last..publica-
tion of said notice lay said service pipes and the city laid or caused
the same to be laid, pursuant to Section 12-832 to 12-833 of the
Revised Statutes of Kansas, 1923, and the cost thereof has been
ascertained, and remains unpaid by the property owners liable
therefor;.NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That there be and there is hereby levied
and assessed against each of the lots and parts of lots hereinafter
described, a special tax or assessment for the purpose of paying
that part of the cost of constructing and laying said water or sewer
service .pipes taxable against such lots and parts of lots, in the
various amounts set opposite the following described lots and parts
of lots, to -wit:

Lot 20, " 7, - - - - - - - - 27.50
Section 2. That the owner of any piece of property liable
for any such assessment may redeem his property from such liability
by paying into the City Treasury the amount chargeable against the
same, as in this ordinance provided-;^ at any time within thirty days
after the publication of this ordinance, and the City Clerk is direct-
ed to give notice of such assessments, by mail, to such owners, and
the City Clerk is hereby directed and authorized after the expiration
of said thirty days to certify any of such assessments as then
remain unpaid to the County Clerk of Saline County, Kansas, to be
placed upon the tax roll for collection, subject to the same
penalties and collected in like manner as other taxes, with inter -
eat at 6% per annum.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its publication in the official City paper.
