pursuant to proceedings duly had according to law a contract
has been let and performed for the construction of certain storm
sewer improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Storm
Sevier No. 9-A as provided for and authorized by Ordinance No. 4311
and Storm Sewer No. 9-B as provided for and authorized by Ordinance
TTo. 4320, and
ti"1H MAS, the total cost of said improvements has been ascertained
according to the final estimates of cost prepared by the City Engin Jnr
and duly filed in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates have
been duly approved by the hoard of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas, the total cost of such storm sewers so ascertained being hereby
determined and found to be as follows: Storm Sewer No. 9-A $32,579.41,
Storm Sewer No. 9-B „':30,822.77, or a total aggregate cost of $633,402.18
and
WHEREAS, a part of the cost of Storm Sewer No. 9-A in the sum of $''8300.00
has been paid by the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works
in the form of a grant allotment and part of the cost of Storm Sewer
No. 9-B in the sum of $',8000,00 has been paid by the Federal Emergency
Administration of Public Works in a form of a grant allotment, such
grant allotments having been secured by the City of Salina pursuant
to contracts duly entered into by it with said Federal Emergency Ad-
ministration of Public Works, and
WHEREAS, there remains unpaid the sum of $47,102.16 of the cost of
such storm sevrers for which bonds shall be issued as hereinafter pro-
vided, NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of "alina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That for the purpose of providing funds to pay the
cost of improvements hereinbefore described, there shall be issued
and hereby are issued internal Improvement Bonds of the City of
Salina, Kansas, in the total sum of $47,102.180 which issue shall
consist of 48 bonds numbered from 1 to 48 inclusive, all dated
August 1st, 1934, and which shall become due serially in denominations
as follows:
No. 1 for $102.17 due August lst, 1935
Nos. 2 and 3 for $1000 each due August 1st, 1935
Nos. 4 to 7 inclusive, for $1000 each, due August 1st, 1936
Nos. 9 to 13 inclusive, for $1000 each, due August lst, 1937
Nos. 14 to 18 inclusive, for $1000 each, due August lst, 1938
Nos. 19 to 23 inclusive, for Q1000 each, due August 1st, 1039
Nos. 24 to 28 inclusive, for $.P1000 each, due August 1st, 1940
Nos, 29 to 33 inclusive, for $1000 each, due August 1st, 1941
Nos. 34 to 38 inclusive, for $1000 each, due August 1st, 1942
Nos. 39 to 43 inclusive, for $1000 each, due August 1st, 1943

All of said bonds shall bear interest at the rate of three and one-
half percent (32/) per annum from and after the first day of August
1934, payable semi-annually on February lst and August lst in each
year until the respective maturities of such bonds, and until all
of such bonds are paid in full.

KNOW ALL P;IEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That the City of Salina, in the
County of Saline, State of Kansas, acknowledges itself to be indebted
and for value received hereby promises to pay to the bearer the sum of

in lawful money of the United Mates of America, on the first day of
August 19 J. with interest thereon from the date hereof at the rate
of three =one-half per cent per annum, payable semi-annually on the
first days of February and August in each year, on presentation and
surrender of the interest coupons hereto annexed as said coupons
severally become due, both principal and interest of this bond being
payable at the office of the State Treasurer of the State of Kansas,
in the Citta of Topeka, Kansas, and said City of Salina'. Kansas is held
and firmly bound by these presents and the full faith, credit and re-
sources of said city are hereby irrevocably pledges for the.pyment of
said principal and interest at maturity.
This bond is one of a series of 48 bonds of like date and tenor,
excepting denomination and maturity, aggregating the principal sum of
$47,102.18 issued by the City of Salina, Kansas, for the purpose of
paying the cost of constructing certain storm sewers in said city by
the authority of and in full compliance with the provisions, restric-
tions and limitations of the constitution and laws of the State of
Kansas, including Sections 12-617 to 12-618 of the Revised Statutes
of Kansas 1923, and all amendments thereof, and all other provisions
of the laws of said state applicable thereto, and this bond and all
other bonds of this series, and all interest thereon are to be paid
by the City of Salina, Kansas.
And it is hereby declared and certified that all acts, conditions
and things required to be done and to exist precedent to and in the
issuance of thl.s bond have been properly done and performed and do
exist in due and regular form and manner as required by the Constitu-
tion and laws of the State of Kansas, and that the total indebtedness
of said city, including this series of bonds, does not exceed any con-
stitutional or statutory limitation.
IN '."FITNESS WHEREOF, the said City of Salina, Kansas, has executed
this bond by causing it to be signed by its Mayor and its corporate
seal to be hereto affixed, attested by its City Clerk and the coupons
hereto attached to be signed with the fac-simile,.signatures of said
officers, and this bond to be dated this first day of August 1934.
