AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract for the repaving of
Ninth Street from the south line of Ash Street to the south
line of North Street (west of Ninth Street); the recurbing of
Ninth Street from the south line of Bishop Street to the south
line of North Street (west of Ninth Street); the construction
of precast concrete railroad crossings across Ninth Street be-
tween the south line of Bishop Street and south line of North
Street (west of Ninth Street); the curbing, guttering and paving
of Columbia Avenue from the north line of Ash Street to the
south line of Elm Street, and of University Place from the east
line or Twelfth Street,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1, That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the
proposal of H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred
to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on
May 31 1934, which -is hereby found and determined to be the lowest
and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of
Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf' of
said city by its Mayor on May 3rd, 19340 for the construction of the
following described improvements to -wit:
Repaving Ninth Street from the south line of Asn
Street to the south lineof Worth Street (west or
Ninth Street), with six inch reinforced concrete
paving, as provided for by ordinance No, 4328;
and recurbing Ninth Street from the mouth line or
Bishop Street to the south line of North Street
(west of Ninth Street), as provided for by Ordinance
No, 4329, except railroad crossings*
Construction of five row precast concrete railroad
crossings, at the crossing of all railroad tracks
across Ninth Street between the south lire of Bishop
Street and the south line of North Street (west of
Ninth Street), as provided for by Ordinance No, 4328,
Cur'-;,ing, guttering and paving, with necessary excava-
tion therefor, of Columbia Avenue from the north line
of Ash S reet to the south line of Elm Street and or
University Place rrom the east line of Baker Street
to the west line of Twelfth Street as provided for
by Ordinance No. 4331 and Ordinance No. 4330,
at the unit prices contained in said proposal, which proposal and con-
tract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and
the same is nereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within
the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates
of the City Engineer filed in the office of the City Clerk, which
estimates are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance.
Section 2. That said improvements shall be built and con-
structed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor
prepared oy the City Engineer and on file In the office of theCity
Clerk, and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and
under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred Lo
and made parts of this ordinance*

by Ordinance No. 4331 and Ordinance No, 4330,
at the unit prices contained in said proposal, which proposal
and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this
ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed,
said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improve-
ments as shown by the sworn estimates of the City engineer
