4388 Keeping of Cattle196 ORDINANCE No, 4388 (Published in the Salina Journal 1134) Air ORDII A11C relating to and regulating the keeping of cattle within { the City limits of the City of Salina, and providing a penalty for the violation of this ordinance. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person, co- partnership or corporation, either as owner or as the agent, repre- sentative or employee or bailee of any owner to keep or have more than two head of cattle over the age of six months at any one time within the city limits of the City of Galina except temporarily for the purpose of sale or for transportation into, out of or through the City of Salina, and except for purposes of slaughter in or on premises lying within the district or zone where such slaughter is permitted. Section 2. That on account of the unsanitary and unhealth- ful conditions caused by the keeping of cattle within the city limits of the City of Lialina, and adjacent to or near premises occupied and used by persons residing within the city, the keeping of more than two head of cattle, (over six months of age) within the City of Salina by any person, copartnership or corporation either as the owner of such cattle or as the agent, representative or employee or bailee of the owner of such cattle is hereby declared to be a nuisance, which shall be abated and/or enjoined as other nuisances are abated and/or enjoined according to law. Section 3. Any person, copartnership or corporation, or any agent, representative, member or officer thereof who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance or who shall permit or maintain a nuisance as defined in this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not less than X10.00 nor more than e25.00, for such offense, and each days continued viola- tion of any of the provisions of this ordinance, and each days continued maintenance of any such nuisance shall be deemed to constitute a separate offense, and any such penalty may be enforced in addition to any remedy which the city or any resident thereof may have by way of abatement or injunction.
