AN ORDI14ANCE relating to and fixing the salaries and wages of certain
officers and employees of the City of Salina.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Co maissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That from and after January 1st, 1937, the

salaries and wages to be paid to the officers and employees of the
City of Salina mentioned in this ordinance shall be the amounts set

forth in the following sections of this ordinance.
Section 2. ADMINISTRATION ARID FINANCE D--'1PARTYENT. The
salaries and wages of the following officers and employees of the
City of Salina shall be as follows:

and employees of the Street Department of the City of Salina shall he as

Section 5. Ei11U"IL:EERING DET PART TI:NT. The salaries of officers
of the engineering department shall be as follows:
City Engineer (not including salary as Engineer for
the Water Department) - - - - - - - 190.00 per no.
The above mentioned shall furnish an automobile, and the expense
of operation and upkeep thereof, for use in the performance of his
duties. Not to exceed two assistant City Engineers when necessary,
at such salary as may be fixed by the City Manager, not to exceed
0150.00 per month.
Section 6. PARK D ;PARTMENT. The salaries of officers and
employees of the Park Department shall be as follows:
Superintendent, (furnishing own car and expense of operation

Section 7. FIRE DEPARTIZUTT. The salaries of the officers and
members of the Fire Department shall be as follows:

Salaries of any spWal firemen shall be fixed by the City
Ty1anager, not to ex&eed the salary of regular fireman. Salaries of
fireman when hired shall be fixer and raised to maximum as now pro-
vided for by ordinance.
Section 8. SEWAGE DISPOSAL DEPARTT,IENT. The Superintendent and
custodian of the Sewage Disposal and Sewage Pumping Plants, (furnishing
his own automobile and the expense of operation and upkeep thereof)
shall receive a salary of 0195.00 per month.
Section 9. WATER 701'LKS DT,'PARTNMNT. The salaries and wares of
officers and employees of the Water Works Department spall be as
follows:

Section 10. The salaries of such city officers as are not
specifically mentioned in this ordinance shall remain as now fixed
by ordinance, and whenever it is necessary to ernpl.,y any person in
any department 1°11iose wades are not spec_ f'cally fixed by ordinance,

including all common labor, the wages of any such employee shall be
such as may be fixed by the city Dlanager and as riay be allowed and
paid from time to time by the Board of Commissioners; provided, that
if by agreement the salary or wages paid to any officer or employee
is reduced from the amount hereby fixed or theretofore in effect,
the amount so agreed upon, when allowed and paid by the Board of
Commissioners and accepted by the officer or employee shall be in
full payment for his services.
Section 11. Nothing in this ordinance shall be deemed to
affect or change the terms or provisions of any ordinance now in
effect, except to such extent as the salaries and wages of officers
and emplr)yees of the c _ty are changed by this ordinance.
Section 12. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication in the official city paper.

AN ORDINANCE relating to and fixing the salaries and wages of certain

Salaries of any special firemen shall be fixed by the City
Manager, not to exceed the salary of regular fireman. Salaries of
fireman when hired shall be fixed and raised to maximum as now pro-

Section 10. The salaries of such city officers as are not
specifically mentioned in this ordinance shall remain as now fixed
by ordinance, and whenever it is necessary to employ any person in
any department whose wages are not specifically fixed by ordinance,
including all common labor, the wages of any such employee shall be
such as may be fixed by the City Manager and as may be allowed and
paid from tirie to time by the Board of Commissioners; provided, that
if by agreement the salary or wages paid to any officer or employee
is reduced from the amount hereby fixed or theretofore in effect,
the amount so agreed upon, when allowed and paid by the Board of
Commissioners and accepted by the officer or employee shall be in
full payment for ichis services.
Section 11. Nothing in this ordinance shall be deemed to
affect or change the terms or provisions of any ordinance now in
effect, except to such extent as the salaries and wages of officers
and employees of the city are changed by this ordinance.
