AN ORD ANCE providing for the repair and reconstruction of a
ce ain portion of a certgin sewer in Ash Street in the City
of lina and for the payment of the cost thereof by the City
at 1 ge and for the issuance of general improvement bonds of
said ity to pay such cost.
WHEREAS, a certain portion of the main Sanitary Sewer in Ash Street
in the Cit of Salina, between Des1Vlo-Ines Avenue and Ohio Street is
by reason o damage to said sewer by flood waters in need of repair
and reconst tion; and-
WHEREAS,
ndWHEREAS, in th judgment of the governing body of the City of Salina
such portion o said sewer should be repaired and reconstructed in
the manner pro v ed by law; and

WHEREAS, said se r serves a substantial
portion of said city and
in the judgment o the governing body of said city the cost of re-
pairing and recons ucting of same should be borne by the city at
large; and
WHEREAS, the general and of said city is insufficient to pay such
cost and said governi body deems it necessary to issue general
improvement bonds of s id city in the manner provided by law to pay
tuch cost, NOW THEREFOR
BE IT ORDAINED by the Bo d of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the f egoing preambles be and they are hereby

Section 2. That on or before 2 th day of July 1938, the City
Engineer shall prepare and file with he City Clerk plans and speci-
fications for the repair and reconstruktion of that portion of said

of the cost thereof, under oath, and the

Section 3. That for the purpose of paying the cost o, work and
improvements, general improvement bonds in an amount not to exceed
the contract price for such work or the cost thereof if done y the
city, shall be issued and sold in the manner provided by law d for
the purpose of paying such bonds and interest as the same become, due
and payable, the Board of Commissioners shall levy a general tax l.pon

all taxable pr erty in the City of Salina in the time and manner provided
by law.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its pu ication in the official city paper.

the City Engineer shall prepare and file with the C y Clerk plans
and specifications for the repair and reconstruction f that portion
of said sewer described in Section 1 hereof, together th a detailed
estimate of the cost thereof, under oath, and thereafter he City
Clerk shall advertise in the official city paper for three onsecutive
days for sealed proposals for the construction of such work ccording
to the plans and specifications of the City Engineer. Upon re eipt
of suc%r proposals the governing body shall let a contract for s h
work and improvements to the lowest responsible bidder therefore,

if here be any whose bid does not exceed the estimate of
