AN ORDINANCE providing for and authorizing the issuance of Improvement
Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas in the sum of X7,310.04 to
pay the cost of constructing certain lateral sanitary sewers in
the City of Salina, Kansas which bonds shall be de§ignated as
Series S-119.
WHEREAS, pursuant to proceedings duly had according to law certain
lateral sanitary sewers have been constructed in the City of Salina,
Kansas, in certain lateral sanitary sewer districts as follows:

WHEREAS, the total cost of said lateral sanitary sewers constructed in
the sewer districts above mentioned and to be paid by special assess-
ments levied upon lots and piecds of ground liable for the payment of
said lateral sanitary servers in the lateral sanitary sewer districts
above ment-oned has been ascertained and is hereby found and determined
to be the sum of X7,9£39.04 which amount has been heretofore duly assessed
and apportioned to the several lots and pieces of ground liable therefor
according to law and as provided for in the ordinances of the City of
Salina relating thereto, of which amount the sum of w679.00 has been
paid by the owners of property liable therefor, leaving a balance for
which funds will be issued in the sum of 07,310.04, NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the foregoing preambles are hereby adopted and
made a part of this ordinance and that for the purpose of providing
funds to pay the cost of the improvements hereinbefore described, _
there shall be issued and there hereby are issued Internal Improve-
ment Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas in the total principal sum
of w7,310.04 which issue shall consist of 15 bonds numbered from one
to 15 inclusive, all dated May 1st, 1938, which shall bear interest at
the late of two percent per annum from and after said date until the
respective maturities of said bonds, payable semi-annually to be evidenced
by interest coupons as herein provided for and said bonds shall become
due serially in denominations as follows:
No. 1 for $310.04 due May lst, 1939
No. 2 for 0500 due May 1st, 1939
No..3 for X500 due May lst, 1940
No. 4 for yq'500 due May lst, 1941
No. 5 for `,'500 due May lst, 1942
No. 6 for $500 due May 1st, 1943
No. 7 for X500 due May 1st, 1944
Nos. 8 and 9 for ti 500 each due May 1st, 1945
Nos. 10 and 11 for $500 each due May lst, 1946
Nos. 12 and 13 for 0500 each due May 1st, 1947
Nos. 14 and 15 for q"p500 each due May 1st, 1948
Section 2. Said bonds shall be signed by the Mayor and shall
be attested by the signature of the City Clerk and the corporate

seal of the city shall be affixed thereto, said bonds shall have

j attached thereto interest coupons representing the interest thereon,
which coupons shall be in the form provided by law and shall bear
the f ac -simile signatures of the Mayor and City Clerk of said city

and said bonds and interest coupons shall be registered in the offices
of the City Clerk and the State Auditor is required by law.
Section 3. Said bonds shall be designated as Series S-119 and
shall be in the form and shall contain recitals substantially as

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That the City of Salina, in the
County of Saline, State of Kansas acknowledges itself to be indebted
and for value received hereby proml.ses to pay to the bearer the sum
of

in lawful money of the United States of America, on the first day
of J. with interest thereon from
the date hereof at the rate of per cent per
annum, payable semi-annually on the first days of and
in each year, on presentation and surrender of the interest coupons
hereto annexed as said coupons severally become due, both principal
and interest of this bond being payable at the office of the State
Treasurer of the State of Kansas, in the City of Topeka, Kansas.
And said City of Salina, Kansas, is held and firmly bound by these
presents and the full faith, credit and resources of said city are
hereby irrevocably pledged for the payment of said principal and
interest at maturity.
This bond is one of a series of 15 bonds of like date and tenor,
excepting denomination and maturity, aggregating the principal sum
Of w7,310.04 issued by the City of Salina, Kansas, for the purpose
of paying the cost of constructing certain lateral sani-L.ary sewers
in said city by the authority of and in full compliance with the
provisions, restrictions and limitations of the constitution and
laws of the State of Kansas, including Sections 10-101 to 10-115
and Sections 12-617 to 12-6291. General Statutes of Kansas 1935,
and such sections as amended, and all. other provisions of the laws
of said state applicable thereto, and this bond and all other bonds
of this series, and all interest thereon are to be paid by the City
of Salina, Kansas.
And it is hereby declared and certified that all acts, conditions
and things required to be done and to exist precedent to and in the
issuance of this bond have been properly done and performed and do
exist in due and re; -Molar form and manner as required by the consti-
tution and laws of the State of Kansas, and that the total indebted-
ness of said city, including this series of bonds, does not exceed
any constitutional or statutory limitation.
IN ""ITNESS WHEREOF, the said City of Salina, Kansas, has executed
this bond by causing it to be signed by its Mayor and its corporate
seal to be hereto affixed, attested by its City Clerk and the coupons
hereto attached to be signed with the f ac --simile signatures of said
officers, and this bond to be dated the .first day of 1938

Section 4. The Ilayor and City Clerk are herebj authorized and
directed to prepare and execute the bonds hereinbefore described
and to advertise and sell the same in the manner provided by
law, and, when duly executed and registered to deliver said bonds
to the purchaser or purchasers thereof.
Section 5. The full faith, credit and resources of the City
of Salina, iLa.nsas, shall be, and the same are hereby irrevocably
pledged for the prompt payment of said bonds and all interest
thereon. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, 11-ansas,
shall annually make provisions of the payment of the principal
and interest on said bonds as the same become due by levying

taxes and assessments upon the property liable therefor as pro-
vided by law.
Section 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication in the official city paper.

BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the foregoing preamblesare hereby adopted and
