Ali' ORDINANCE providing for the construction, reconstruction,
improvement and enlargement of the pumping station for the
purpose of pumping sewage of i.iain Sewer District "P" and ex-
tensions thereof in order to conduct the sewage of said Main
Sewer District "P" and extensions thereof, to a point of out-
let as a part of the sewage disposal system of the City of
Salina.
Bi; IT OLDAILvED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That it is deemed necessary that the existing sewage
pumping station heretofore constructed by the City of Salina, rLansas,
near the intersection of Wilson and Sherman Streets in said city
under the provisions of Ordinance No. 3568 for the purpose of pump-
ing the sewage of Dain Sewer District "P" into the existing; sewer
located in Eleventh Street at 'Vlilson Street be reconstructed, im-
proved and enlarged to the extent necessary to handle and dispose
of the sewa:�e in such district and it is hereby ordered that a
sewage pumping station for such purpose be constructed, reconstructed,
improved and enlarged, as a part of the sewa;;e disposaa_ system of
the City of Salina.
Section 2. That the City Engineer of the City of Salina shall
on or before the 21st day of March 1938, prepare and file in the
office of the City Clerk plans ans specifications for the construc-
tion, reconstruction, improvement and enlargement of the pumping
station provided for in Section 1 of this ordinance which shall
be at the location of the existing pumping station hereinabove
referred toand of the proper character to pump and dispose of the
sewage of said Main Sewer District "P" and extensions thereof, into
the main sewer at present existing in Eleventh Street at VJilson Street,
so as to conduct the sewage from said Main Sewer istrict "Pt' and
extensions thereof to a point of outlet, as a part of the sewage
disposal system of the City of Sal-'na, Kansas, and shall on or before

said date prepare and submit to the Board of Commissioners under oath
detailed estimates of the cost thereof, and that thereafter the City

Clerk shall advertise for three consecutive days in the official city
paper for sealed proposals for the buildin; and construction of such
pumping station according to such plans and specifications, which
proposals shall be filed with the City Clerk on or before the time
fixed in such notice, at which time the Board of Commissioners may
let a contract for the building and construction of such pumping
station to the lowest and best responsible bidder therefor; provided
that such bids shall not exceed the estimated cost thereof and pro-
vided further that said Board shall reserve the right to reject any
and all such proposals and that if no repensible bids shall be re-
ceived within said estimated cost said Board may proceed and build

such pumping station within such estimated cost.
Section 3. That for the payment of the cost of such work except such
part thereof as may be paid from funds furnished by any Federal or State
Agency or except for such labor as may befurnished b,r any Federal or
State Agency, the Board of Commissioners shall issue Tmprovement Bonds
of the City of Salina, Kansas, in an amount not to exceed the total cost
of such work and improvements, except as herein provided, to be payable
in ten approximately equal annual installments and to bear interest at
not to exceed 5% per annum from the date of such bonds, and for the
purpose of paying such bonds and interest as they severally mature,
the Board of Commissioners shall annually levy a tax upon all real and
pdrsonal property in the City of Salina in an amount sufficient to pay
the annual installments of such principal and interest, and that pending
the issue of such bonds, temporary notes shall be issued according to law,
to pay the host of such work.
Section 4. That before the pumping station herein provided for shall
be constructed, the plans and specifications therefor shall first be
subm tted to the department of the Board of Health of the State of Kansas
and be approved by such department.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
from and after its publication in the official city paper.

AN ORDINANCE providing for the construction, reconstruction,
improvement and enlargement of the pumping station for the purpose
of pumping sewage of Main Sewer District P" and extensions thereof
in order to conduct the sewage of said Main Sewer District "P" and
extensions thereof, to a point of outlet as a part of the sewage
disposal system of the City of Salina.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That it is deemed necessary that the existing
sewage pumping station heretofore constructed by the City of Salina,
Kamsas, near the intersection of Wilson and Sherman Streets in said
city under the provisions of Ordinance No. 356£3 for the purpose of
pumping the sewage of Main Sewer District "P" into the existing
sewer located in Eleventh Street at vrilson Street be reconstructed,
improved and enlarged to the extent necessary to handle and dispose
of the sewage in such district and it is hereby ordered that a
sewage pumping station for such purpose be constructed, reconstructed,
Improved and enlarged, as a part of the sewage disposal system of
the City of Salina.
Section 2. That the City Engineer of the City of Salina shall
