AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with k. R. Amerman
for the construction of certain paving and for the construction
of Storm Sewers No. 12 and 16 in the City of Salina, and pro-
viding for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof
pending the issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT OhDA1NED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the
proposal of M. R. Amerman hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor"
as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on June 10th,,1929, which
is hereby found and determined to be the lowest and best bid for such
work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said
city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor
on June 10th, 1929, for the construction of certain public improvements
in the City of Salina, to -wit:
Storm Sewer No. 12 as provided for by Ordinance No. 3724
and Storm Sewer No. 16 as provided for by Ordinance No.
3718, said sewer to be constructed of No. 2 D.S.V.S. pipe
sewer in sizes 12" to 27" inclusive, and No. 1 vitrified
segment block, size 301t;
Paving of alley between Santa Fe Avenue and Seventh Street
from the north line of Mulberry Street north to a point 225
fto south of Walnut Street with 2V brick on 6" concrete base
at and for the unit prices for Siad work contained in said proposal,
which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts
of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed,
said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements
as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the
office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and
made part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed
in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared
by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in
acpcordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms
of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts
of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and
attested by the City Clerk be issued from tine to time as the work
Progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount
thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes
to bear interest not to exceed 6 percent per annum and to mature not
later than June lst, 19230, and to be isaz ed in such amounts and at
such time as money for the payment of the cost of such work may be re-
quired, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed
and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.

Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication in the official city paper.
